Pasta
Baked beans
Toilet roll
Kitchen roll
Water
Chocolate fingers
This was the same yesterday when I went to a local shop.
Anyone else seem to live in an area where no one is bothered enough to stock pile? Plus I wonder why some places seem to have more shortages than others?

Me!! The craziness hadn’t hit here ter

Grumpbum123 · 09/03/2020 20:16

Yet

ExclamationPerfume · 09/03/2020 20:17

I went to our huge Asda this morning. They had no toilet roll at all. Then to Boots who had a queue of 50 people waiting for the hand sanitiser to be put out. It's crazy.

BendingSpoons · 09/03/2020 20:19

In my Asda delivery my bunny shaped crumpets were substituted for normal crumpets. Everything else came. I don't think people are panic buying bunny shaped crumpets!

BendingSpoons · 09/03/2020 20:20

I got (a normal amount of) toilet roll, pasta etc.

Conrad79 · 09/03/2020 20:24

Our local shop had everything apart from laundry powder, veggie mince & veggie sausages!

However, bunny shaped crumpets is now what I’m after Grin they sound brilliant!

BumbleBeeFlower · 09/03/2020 20:24

Mine still had everything bar hand sanitiser but the stock of things like loo roll and surface cleaners was low compared normal.
I don't get the hysteria around it all. Surely these people cleaned their arse/hands/house before coronavirus?! I certainly already have plenty of soap and cleaning products because, shock horror, I like to clean my house on a fairly regular basis!
The only thing I can see me needing to buy soon is loo roll as I only ever buy 4 at a time and I am nearly out but I can already feel that I will be judged when I go to get some.

Dreamersandwishers · 09/03/2020 20:25

At my Tesco Extra there were some gaps on the pasta shelves, the hand soap shelves and anti- bacterial wipes looked like they’d taken a hit. Loads of toilet rolls, but they had a few notices about restricting some items.
I am in Scotland

Peanutbutteryogurt · 09/03/2020 20:25

I went to Morrisons and got everything I needed, including toilet roll. Was pretty disappointed not to see any madness really.

Will0wtree · 09/03/2020 20:26

No toilet roll at all on shelves in local Tesco, totally bare... I've quite a few rolls at home, so not bothered yet.

But it does put you into the mindset that if you see it maybe it might be best after all to get a few rolls. It annoys me, as I don't see any need to stockpile, but on the other hand I don't want to get to the end of next week and not be able to buy some more.

bluechameleon · 09/03/2020 20:27

I really want a bunny shaped crumpet

listsandbudgets · 09/03/2020 20:27

Everything except hand sanatiser so far as I could see when I popped into co-op this afternoon. I only wanted fruit but walked round to have a look. There had definitely been panic buying of toilet roll though as the shelves were about 3/4 empty. I saw one man loading in 6 lots of 24 packs.. unbelievable

Ilovesausages · 09/03/2020 20:29

My theory is that people are naturally anxious about the virus and stocking up gives them
Something to do. I think that’s part of it. Like it’s a positive action rather than just a general worry.

slipperywhensparticus · 09/03/2020 20:29

Tescos is out of paracetamol but seems ok for the rest they clearly have loads of budget loo roll left but are low on charmain and andrex so I'm guessing it's only posh folk who are stocking up here Hmm all the toilet wipes are gone too there goes the sewage system

Notonmyshift · 09/03/2020 20:30

No loo roll, tissue, pasta, rice, beans, tuna, soap, hand wash, hand gel, cleaning stuff apart from oven cleaner and polish at my local Tesco today.

The world's gone mad!

Igottastartthinkingbee · 09/03/2020 20:31

Our local supermarket had everything too. Loads.

AnyFucker · 09/03/2020 20:31

Asda this evening:

No toilet roll, no hand gel, no hand cleaner, no soap (as in none whatsoever)

V. low on bleach, surface cleaner, tinned goods

Echobelly · 09/03/2020 20:33

Went to Aldi on Sunday and it was OK. A little low on loo roll but there was no panic, desperation or people piling stuff up in their trollies. We need to share more stories of normal supermarkets, this 'OMG, my local shop was soooo empty' stuff and pics of empty shelves is really counterproductive.

Flopdrop · 09/03/2020 20:33

In my asda there were no toilet rolls and they were just about to start restocking the empty hand wash and soap shelves. It is madness, but the panic buyers are kind of forcing the rest of us to buy these products when we can for fear that they wont be available when we actually need them.

MrsA2015 · 09/03/2020 20:34

Sydenham sainsburys tonight ! Ridiculous as couple of days ago everything was there , people are definitely buying Into the hysteria

I went to the shops today and they had everything.

GrinGrinGrin

I’m living on the edge...down to my last 4 rolls and not checked my local shops Shock

Bluetrews25 · 09/03/2020 20:36

Yes, all fine with me, too.
Move along, nothing to see.

SapphosRock · 09/03/2020 20:36

It's business as usual in Brighton. All the shelves were full when I went shopping today.

A Chinese noodle restaurant that's usually packed was completely empty though.

PinkCrayon · 09/03/2020 20:36

Ours is fine too.

user1493494961 · 09/03/2020 20:36

Our shops seem to have plenty of everything apart from hand sanitiser.
