Pasta
Baked beans
Toilet roll
Kitchen roll
Water
Chocolate fingers
This was the same yesterday when I went to a local shop.
Anyone else seem to live in an area where no one is bothered enough to stock pile? Plus I wonder why some places seem to have more shortages than others?

My local Sainsburys had run out of pasta tonight. I bought the last two bags. No pasta sauces though.

Plenty of baked beans.

Loo roll was looking scarce.

Got Dettol but there was a massive cage in the aisle so struggled to see.

adaline · 09/03/2020 20:37

Same here - no issues at all on Saturday. We got everything including toilet roll, tinned food and pasta.

elizabethrose · 09/03/2020 20:37

Went to my (small) local Asda today and all was fine with the exception of calpol which I needed for my daughter who won't take any of the own brand stuff. I do expect this to change soon though, especially if the government advice changes.

Cecilia2016 · 09/03/2020 20:37

I went to Asda in the morning they had a lot of toilet paper but no detol surface wipes , no hand sanitizer and only few hand wash soap that was on the shelves. I also went to Costco and they had no hand wash soap and few toilet paper and only 1 pack per customer and also boots had few hand wash soap and was limiting to 2 per customer and no hand sanitizer.

Conrad79 · 09/03/2020 20:39

Superdrug has a 3 for 2 on hand sanitiser a few weeks ago. Weird timing

Conrad79 · 09/03/2020 20:40

Had** (obviously)

MissRabbitNeedsAHoliday · 09/03/2020 20:40

Local Asda had no toilet roll, no soap, no hand sanitizer, no detol or antibacterial wipes. And I mean none whatsoever. Totally bonkers.

Reginabambina · 09/03/2020 20:40

Everything in stock where I am. Cafes etc are full as well. Nobody seems to be concerned in the slightest.

HindsightIs2020 · 09/03/2020 20:41

Tinned sweetcorn is in short supply here. And I had to go to 3 shops to get some toilet roll (needed, not stockpile).

There was no hand sanitiser or liquid soap in Sainsburys though.

ferneytorro · 09/03/2020 20:41

Toilet roll stocks the opposite to what another poster upthread saw. Went to Aldi earlier and there was not one roll of normal toilet paper but the aloe vera and the other luxurious one (had a picture of a rabbit on) was stocked high. People of the Ribble Valley obviously not prepared to splash out on the stuff (no pun intended). There was also a very tall display of boxed Corona beer which seemed to have gone untouched.

frustratedmother101 · 09/03/2020 20:42

Our local convenience store has toilet rolls the big asda 5 mins down the road is empty 😂

ibizarocks · 09/03/2020 20:43

I've just had my usual online delivery, just ordered what I normally would, and everything was there, no substitutes including toilet roll and pasta. Totally surprised after reading all these horror stories.

lydiarose · 09/03/2020 20:44

Plenty of everything apart from hand gel at my local Sainsbury's. I'm puzzled because last week I was out for coffee 3 times and lunch once and I have yet to see anyone else using hand gel before eating. I even hid my hands under the table yesterday while I 'cleaned' my hands. Also the shops were mobbed yesterday - I was expecting people to be staying at home a lot more.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 09/03/2020 20:45

No toilet roll or bread mix, very limited hand soap. However still loads of shower gel and bubble bath... No hand sanitizer. Pasta and baked beans low. However at poundstretcher across the road, mountains of toilet paper.

When walking around town this afternoon, everyone seemed to have a packet of toilet paper.

Trueperfectionhastobeimperfect · 09/03/2020 20:52

I've just had a quick look on my Asda app and toilet roll, hand gel/soap, cleaning products and pasta are all pretty much sold out. Not been into the shop since the middle of last week, hope i can still do my weekly shop!

UnitedRoad · 09/03/2020 20:54

Our supermarket has no toilet roll APART from multi packs of coloured rolls. Apparently people would rather use old socks than pastel green or ‘champagne’

HowDoesTheCow · 09/03/2020 20:55

Morrisons this morning had signs on soap, toilet roll and hand sanitiser shelves limiting amounts to customers. It had no hand sanitiser or paracetamol and not much bar soap but all the fancy liquid hand soap you could ask for. And loads and loads of cheapo bog roll but no Andrex. And no facial tissues.

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 09/03/2020 20:55

A bit of panic buying seems public spirited to me. Vast quantities of bog roll and tinned food that had been stored centrally in warehouses is rapidly being distributed and stored around the country in people's homes while the distribution system is able to cope. That will take the strain off it in the immediate future, which might be very helpful if everything starts to struggle. If the system remains robust then no harm done.

ShowOfHands · 09/03/2020 20:56

Our local shops have no shortages at all. It's passed us by entirely.

anon2020202020 · 09/03/2020 20:56

It's mental at all shops here. Overheard a Costco employee saying they sold out of toilet roll by 10am this morning.

Redglitter · 09/03/2020 20:58

Got my Tesco order today. Only things missing were the salted caramel hot cross buns 😞 Got my Andrex loo rolls, handwash & wee hand sanitisers.

GoatyGoatyMingeMinge · 09/03/2020 21:01

wee hand sanitisers

This means something different, but very appropriate, where I live Grin

Solomangrundy · 09/03/2020 21:02

Bunny crumpets....

Do you eat the ears first...?🤣

muchtoosoon · 09/03/2020 21:02

Thing is OP you haven't mentioned which little area of utopia you live? So I think you should so all the crazy prepers can head you way!
Most stock was back to normal today, after crazy weekend of empty shelves. But no hand gel still!

Lauren83 · 09/03/2020 21:03

I have been to several
Supermarkets near me the last few days and they had everything (near Manchester)
