Did you have a honeymoon? Where did you go?

Planning our honeymoon and have decided we’ll be happy with a couple of nights hotel stay somewhere here in the UK. (Mostly due to money as even this will be a stretch.)

But I wondered if that was unusual and whether most people went abroad?

Did you have a honeymoon and if so what did you do?

Scotland at midwinter. It was bliss - very very very cold but bright sunshine every day. Loved it.

Vietnam. It was amazing.

Lanzarote

Maui is a v popular destination 😁

We've been married nearly 5 years and haven't had one. Doubt we ever will

Florida

Kerala, South India. We had a driver for two weeks, sailed across a lake, you name it. But it's about the company, not the location. After the whirlwind of hosting a wedding with 175 guests, to be alone with just one other was a huge relief. You can do that anywhere.

Three weeks - South Africa and Namibia. Was awesome.

We went to Crete

We went to a converted barn in the Charente region of south-west France for 6 weeks. It was absolute bliss.

Thailand, it was brilliant but very decadent and unlikely to ever be repeated.

Road trip around Scotland and the Highlands in Autumn. Just beautiful!

Feutureventura

North America. We travelled around for 3 weeks and had 6 stop offs at various places.

We are going to New Zealand and a few days in Fiji on the way back. Self-indulgent but they are both places we want to go to and they are both so far away/in the same region (ish!)

Perfect, he gets his Hobbiton fix, I get to live my Moana dream

Tokyo and Kyoto

Australia, we saved for a year, but it was worth it

Mexico, it was amazing

2 weeks in Barbados

We had two nights in Nottingham! Lovely hotel (lovely company) and a really lovely relaxing couple of days.

Mum and dad gave me £1000 towards the wedding and I managed it all for about £980! (10 years together and two wonderful [not without our time in hospital ] children) I really wanted to get it done.

If I had my time again I would’ve loved a nice Wedding. We did the registry with the girls and our parents, it was nice and all, I would have just really liked it to be a bit of a bigger party!

I am getting married this Friday. We fly to New York for a week for our honeymoon 2 weeks after the wedding

Long weekend in Edinburgh in November. It was brilliant

New York and the Caribbean (St John). Was amazing

Road trip around Europe for 3 weeks. Totally amazing! We don’t do beach holidays or packages
France, Germany. Austria, Italy etc. Nowhere booked we just drove and stopped where we liked.

Zakinthos. Booked a stupidly cheap package for the flights and then found secluded villa on the beach (kavos psarou) to stay in independently on the internet. Was swoony.
