If you only have a wedding band and not an engagement ring...

Please could you show me it?

He and I are not at that stage yet but I suspect it will be a short engagement if it comes to pass. I've been engaged before and it didn't actually turn into a marriage. So I already have a big rock sitting in my jewellery box and no desire to bother with that again.

If you didn't bother with an engagement ring, do you have a much blingier band to make up for it?

Thanks! :-)

I'm not a 'blingy' person at all, so no - never had an engagement ring (never saw the point of them) so just have a very plain band in rose gold.

(Sorry, not currently able to work out how to upload a picture)

I have a plain gold band. It’s beautiful.

Purplewithred · 28/02/2020 18:22

I have a plain white gold band; it used to have a texture to it but that seems to have worn off.

DH wanted me to have an engagement ring but I didn't want one so I asked for a posh handbag instead, but we never got round to buying it.

Mine has a small pattern on, however I don't wear it as it no longer fits me. Am not a fan of large stones or bling.

If I wear a ring at all it is my grandmother's ring which used to have a pattern that has almost worn off completely and it shines beautifully due to being about 130 years old or more as I don't know who had it before her. She had some lovely rings, some are bands with just tiny stones which I also wear as a wedding ring.

I always wanted a diamond solitaire, so had one made for my engagement. When we got married I just used my engagement ring witch I love.

OddBoots · 28/02/2020 18:45

Mine is just a plain 9ct gold band, Lizzy Duke's finest.

Sameold2020 · 28/02/2020 18:47

Yes mine is slightly blingy. It has small diamonds all the way round the front of the band.

TeenPlusTwenties · 28/02/2020 18:49

My wedding ring is white gold with yellow gold either side, a bit like this one but curved not flat. I love it.

I have a 22ct gold thick gold band. I love it. It originally belonged to DH's great grandmother and was given to me by MIL to use. I had to have it resized and a fair bit of gold added to fit my sausagey finger.

Bezalelle · 28/02/2020 18:56

This is mine. It was my Nanna's. Nice and thin, and unobtrusive. I don't like "weighty" or blingy jewellery.

I would have preferred a fancy wedding band rather than the traditional wedding and engagement ring but DH surprised me with one when he proposed so I lost out on that!!

Tungsten Carbide. Indestructible - like our love.

Ironmanrocks · 28/02/2020 19:04

Mine is a Kate Smith similar to the link ...but in white gold. It also looks much smoother overall. 7 tiny diamonds all around. I love it.

Cheaply gold ring bought a few days before - done the job for nearly 30 years.

hellsbells99 · 28/02/2020 19:08

I have this one

Mine’s the thinnest, plainest, cheapest gold band the shop had. My husband was mortified when I chose it!

SoftBlocks · 28/02/2020 19:17

I’ve got a plain but quite thick platinum one. I love it.

LouLouLoo · 28/02/2020 19:18

I didn't want an engagement ring, but did go a bit blingy for my wedding band! I love it but it's not to everyones taste.

Plain gold band - means the world to me!

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/02/2020 19:25

Not the best picture and my fingers aren't normally puffy. I love my ring. Platinum and 9 little diamonds.

We got married on Saturday. No engagement ring here, we just decided one day after 9 years to get married so no proposal.
It’s white gold with 5 little diamonds set in a channel.
