Has anyone found a really good brand of decaf tea?

Just that really!

I usually drink a builders tea with Yorkshire gold but I'm cutting back on the caffeine (pregnant). I still have a nice strong cuppa in the morning but I'd easily drink 4-5 a day if I could.
I've only tried the ALDI decaf but it's awful- anyone found a good one?

I like Tesco decaf tea.

tootyfruitypickle · 25/02/2020 19:45

Yorkshire tastes the best but must have some caffeine in as it keeps me awake. Pg tips says none and is better for me but I sti can’t drink it after about 4! I’d love to find an evening drink.

Beautyoftheirdreams · 25/02/2020 19:45

We've tried so many. PG tips is our favourite, if that's sold out, Yorkshire tea decaf is a great second

Waitrose essential decaf - can’t taste the difference from caffeinated tea.

pollysproggle · 25/02/2020 19:47

I have tried red bush but didn't like it. My mum swears by it. I think the only herbal tea I can get on board with is peppermint and I've started drinking one a night before bed.

I like coop decaf tea - tried lots but I think it's the best.

As a side note, did anyone else know you could make your own decaf tea using any normal caffeinated teabag? I only found this out today so haven't tried it, but may be worth a go if you have a favourite caffeinated brand.

Well I never knew that, @4forkssake!

Teacup34 · 25/02/2020 19:57

Co op is the best I've tried so far makes a good strong cuppa, I found pg tips and Tetley really weak. Tesco and typhoo are awful imo I might give Yorkshire a try now I love a strong cuppa!!

PawPawNoodle · 25/02/2020 20:03

Not strictly what you asked but I really like the Yorkshire Tea bedtime tea, it has a bit of vanilla and nutmeg in it. I only drink it in the run-up to bedtime but it is nice!

4forkssake · 25/02/2020 20:03

@familyofaliens me neither but I've done a few google checks after I read it on FB & seems legit. Might try it, I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine so assume I'd know if it still had too much caffeine in.

SospanFrangipan · 25/02/2020 20:04

Another vote for Yorkshire decaf!

HelloDulling · 25/02/2020 20:05

PG is perfect.

FeckaDecka · 25/02/2020 20:06

Tetley

partygamer · 25/02/2020 20:09

Tetley - it’s indistinguishable from the regular one

frippit · 25/02/2020 20:09

Co op is the best and I've tried loads. It has flavour and is not all weak and watery.

katiegoestoaldi · 25/02/2020 20:10

Yorkshire Tea Decaf

Crazychocolatelady · 25/02/2020 20:10

I second Lyons decaf in the blue box

RoseMartha · 25/02/2020 20:11

Yorkshire is probably the best.

Bit expensive for me so I get Tescos own make which is good too.

EyeDrops · 25/02/2020 20:11

Ohhh the Yorkshire tea Bedtime Brew as a pp mentioned is AMAZING. I love it but really can only drink it shortly before bed as it makes me sleepy. Just tastes so cosy!

Sainsburys decaf is pretty good, that or Yorkshire tea as others have said is the best.

Allmyfavouritepeople · 25/02/2020 20:12

Clipper decaf is plastic free. Leave it to stew longer and it's great.

IncognitoIsMyFavouriteWord · 25/02/2020 20:12

My favourite is Tick Tock. I can't smell or taste fish with that one. I can smell it in the Yorkshire one.

Lulu1919 · 25/02/2020 20:12

Don't Yorkshire tea do a de caf ?

Lulu1919 · 25/02/2020 20:13

They do I just checked

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 25/02/2020 20:13

I like Yorkshire tea decaf. Tastes the same to me

fairplay · 25/02/2020 20:16
