Today I hit 50 and this is what I did

DH died last year after three years of living with cancer, this was. Iceland was a place I wanted to take him but he didn't make so I bundled the kids up and we are here for half term and tonight we were treated to the most extraordinary display of Northern lights, so happy birthday to me

It was truly amazing, they neay cancelled the trip as the weather was not good but they did it anyway, the guide said its been the best display for ages

Wow! Mixed emotions for you but a fantastic experience to see the Northern Lights in Iceland. So glad you went on the trip. We lived in the north of Scotland for ten years and sometimes saw them there. Never as good as that image though. I did see the green once at 2am when I was cycling back from work. I stopped and watched for about fifteen minutes.
