Today I hit 50 and this is what I did

DH died last year after three years of living with cancer, this was. Iceland was a place I wanted to take him but he didn't make so I bundled the kids up and we are here for half term and tonight we were treated to the most extraordinary display of Northern lights, so happy birthday to me

Wow, that's just incredible. How
wonderful to be there with your kids. A time of mixed emotions but that's ok, is t it. You can be happy and sad at the same time.

Amazing to have the Northern Lights on your 50th. I did too but in Northern Sweden. It's so beautiful isn't it.

Happy 50th op. That looks amazing.

As an aside, if you haven't already, then come and join way (Widowed and young). It's a great place to get support, meet new friends, kids meet new friends in same situation etc.

Happy Birthday! You are very lucky to see the Northern Lights I went for my 60th birthday at this time of year 5 years ago but didn't see them.

How beautiful and I love the pp's idea that your dh was lighting up the sky for you. I'm sorry he didn't get to make the trip with you and the children but I think it's fantastic that you went and had such a special experience! Happy 50th - mine was a few days ago!!
