Who has 'Been Kind' to you today?

Following the wave of 'Be Kind' posts on social media, tell me something kind someone has done for you today?

I'll start ... I'm currently on week 5 of Couch 2 5k, and this morning was huffing and puffing my way through a 5 minute jog while Micheal Johnson whispered in my ear that I only had another 2.5 minutes to go, when a lady I've never seen before wound down her window and yelled "Go on girl, keep going, you're doing great!"

She made me smile and kept me plodding Smile What kind thing has someone done for you today?

OP posts:

That's lovely OP, hope you felt great after your run Smile

An old man at the bank today let me go in front of him in the queue but I suspected it was so he could get a better look at my arse. Still, it was reciprocal kindness Grin

polkadotpj · 18/02/2020 17:01

That's ace. I love an encouraging smile when running. The lady in the cafe being nice to us with two frazzled kids today is mine

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 18/02/2020 17:22

I’ve had a few nice things happen today. A posh restaurant allowed my autistic DC to uses their facilities ( Dc not great at holding ) even tho we weren’t customers. Will definitely go back in for a nice meal with DH and leave a generous tip.

Second I’ve had some health issues lately and while waiting to collect a parcel a lovely lady noticed I was in pain and offered me her seat. I really appreciated the offer but politely declined as she was much older and seemed not so steady on her feet, bless her.

The midwife I had a general appointment with is coming into work early tomorrow so she can show me around the theatre before I have my c section as I'm super nervous about it.
She let me over run on time with a million different questions and really reassured me.
I do have an appointment for this anyway but it's not for another 11 days and I'm dying of nerves!
Baby is breech and I'm incredible nervous.

TheReef · 18/02/2020 17:47

One of my colleagues told me my hair looked nice Smile

Gingernaut · 18/02/2020 17:50

I was late finishing a fairly strenuous task and still had another task to complete.

A colleague came in, told me to start task 2 and finished task 1 for me.

She was very kind.

TheNoiseHurts · 18/02/2020 17:50

I always want to scream that to runners! Especially ones that look as unfit as I do when I run!

dannydyerismydad · 18/02/2020 18:05

A shop assistant told me I had a beautiful name.

My parents chose my first name. I have my second name from my husband, but it was a sweet thing to say.

Went to Birmingham today and everyone was kind - from the people working in five guys to the bus drivers to random people smiling in the street! So unexpected!

Sarcelle · 18/02/2020 18:24

Nobody! My DH is about to cook my dinner so that's kind.

I need to find something kind to him now. I will iron him a shirt. He will be deeply susan but that is what I will do.

FabulouslyFab · 18/02/2020 18:33

My boss is kind to me everyday. I have a brain injury and she must despair at sometimes having to show me how to do things more than once, but she never shows it.

ToastyFingers · 18/02/2020 18:38

I complimented a lady I work with on her beautiful bunch of flowers and 20 mins later she showed up with a bunch for me.

olderthanilookapparently · 18/02/2020 18:39

My client was nice today and must have relayed my issue to his boss nicely as I didn't get the hairdryer phone call I was expecting

OhCobblers · 18/02/2020 18:42

I had two hours left on my car park ticket and could see someone fumbling for change at the machine when I was leaving (in the pouring rain!!), jumped out of my car, got drenched, and gave her my ticket!!

MazDazzle · 18/02/2020 18:43

My eldest daughter is autistic. She had a meltdown this morning and was refusing to go to school. Managed to get her into the car and parked in the carpark. The lovely school receptionist said she could sit in the office with her until she was ready to go into class.

A friend provided some emergency childcare for me, including taking him to the fracture clinic to have a new cast put on.

Witchend · 18/02/2020 18:48

I went to pick up a parcel that PO failed to deliver last week. Wasn't there.
The PO lady said she'd do a thorough search and took my number so she could call me when she found it, and said that she'd put it in for delivery again tomorrow.
An hour later I got a voicemail to say the postman had accidentally picked it up to take instead of the parcel next to it, and either I could collect it today after 5pm, or she'd put it out for delivery tomorrow.
Went to pick it up, and she had it ready.
Dd was delighted-she's been waiting for this and today was the first day I could get to the PO.

MortyFide · 18/02/2020 18:48

Nobody, nobody at all.

Frlrlrubert · 18/02/2020 18:49

The lady on the insurance claims line was very nice (it's her job but they aren't all that pleasant).

FIL made DDs packed lunch after we'd stayed at theirs due to flooding.

I returned the favour by walking the dogs (he's just had an operation).

BeyondMyWits · 18/02/2020 18:50

A customer told me that they had only come in because it was my shift and she liked me best...

another customer picked up a box that I dropped and presented it with a flourish and a deep bow that made me giggle.

(to pass it on I made stew pie for tea - hubby's favourite)

YgritteSnow · 18/02/2020 18:50

Someone gave me an unexpected birthday present. I'm a single parent and don't get much fuss made for me on birthdays so this was lovely. Obvs won't open until my actual birthday though Smile

My daughter earnestly told me she'd never turn me into a bear like Merida did to her Mum "that's not something you ever need to worry about Mum" Grin

The80sweregreat · 18/02/2020 18:56

My dh cooked a nice dinner for us both today.

madmother1 · 18/02/2020 19:00

My DD 19, did a bit of shopping for me as works in town. I filled her windscreen bottle up in return. I like this thread. We must all try to be kinder to each other.

SlayB · 18/02/2020 19:05

I can't remember the last anyone was kind to me.

Though there are lots of kind people local to me offering shelter for flood victims which I thought was lovely. The local hotel feed the fire crews for free and the butchers did them some hot pork rolls.

Susiesue61 · 18/02/2020 19:05

My DD and DS2 came on a walk with me in the rain this morning and were excellent company 😊
My boss is letting me have an hour off tomorrow to take DD for a filling!
My old boss would have been really stroppy
