Following the wave of 'Be Kind' posts on social media, tell me something kind someone has done for you today?

I'll start ... I'm currently on week 5 of Couch 2 5k, and this morning was huffing and puffing my way through a 5 minute jog while Micheal Johnson whispered in my ear that I only had another 2.5 minutes to go, when a lady I've never seen before wound down her window and yelled "Go on girl, keep going, you're doing great!"

She made me smile and kept me plodding Smile What kind thing has someone done for you today?

Weekday28 · 18/02/2020 21:38

My children have all told me they love me today whist having cuddles on the sofa. Although school holidays can be tough it's so nice to have time to just be together. And it was one of those heart felt I love you'd where they cling to you just that second longer so you truly feel it

My 13 year old DS told me he's lucky to have a mum like me which is lovely coming from a hormonal teenager.

ForeverBubblegum · 18/02/2020 21:42

A lady helped pick up the massive pile of soil and plant pots DS managed to knock off a table at a farm. (Delivery crate type thing full of little pots of soil, half hanging off a table, DS (3) bumped it and sent it flying)

I had DD in a sling so was crouching, trying to keep her upright, and tidying over her, while also trying to stop DS from running off.

I was in a right flap, and that lady was a life saver.

I contacted someone I've never met completely out of the blue about some research I'm doing. They couldn't help directly but took ten minutes out of their day to tell me the little they knew and give me information about people who can probably answer my questions.

I also had to fill out what appeared to be a totally incomprehensionable form from the bank and finally gave up and called them. The wonderful lady who answered the phone talked me through all the right answers and spent quite some time doing so

I got a free cup of tea because the customer in front changed their mind when it came to paying, they refused my money so I stuck it in the charity tin.

Someone in the arcade left their tokens for my children, never said why, we still had a few left over once my children had pi ked their items so we left the remainder on the till for the next person

My eldest gave me and extra hug and kiss and apologised for his attitude, that one melted me.

No one, feel very sad today.

AdultHumanFemale · 18/02/2020 22:18

Sarcelle, your husband being "deeply susan" about you ironing his shirt has cracked me up.
MaidenMotherCrone (such a great name!), thank you for reminding me that I too have been kind to myself.
DP has been extremely kind for the last few days, despite us going through a challenging time. I'm ill and he's really stepping up, beyond expectation.
Our neighbour came and did a couple of skilled tradesman type odd jobs this morning, and then insisted it was a favour. Maybe just a 5 minute job for him, but an important fix for us, so really very kind. Must make it up to him soon.

Londonborncatty · 18/02/2020 22:22

My parents cooked me dinner when I phoned and asked if they would. Very lucky as they are always very kind.

Witcher · 18/02/2020 22:28

A total stranger held my dogs lead as I was failing miserably to pick up her grizzly bear sized shit with one hand while the bag was flapping in the wind!

Witcher · 18/02/2020 22:35

Oh and DS 13 brought me a bunch of lillies saturday morning... for no apparent reason just that they are my favourites, they where down to a quid and said "he couldnt resist a bargain".......he is so my son 😁🤣

amazedmummy · 18/02/2020 22:36

The woman serving me in Asda had so much patience. I got to the checkout with some wee pre-made bottles of formula and realised I had the wrong stage. She scanned and packed my shopping while I did a mad dash back with DS in pram to pick up the right ones. She was also lovely about it because I was in a right flap.

ohmysoul · 18/02/2020 22:37

We're in A&E with DD and a man bought her milkshake for no reason.

IamMummyhearmeROAR · 18/02/2020 22:50

Colleagues who comforted me when I found out my HRT had run out again. It all became too much and they listened and hugged and gave me some cake

suziesue45 · 18/02/2020 23:02

I had a kind gentleman flash me out at a junction while out in my car earlier, then he cut me up at the lights 2 minutes later, wanker 😂

wesdxc12 · 18/02/2020 23:17

When I went to pick up my cinema tickets from the desk, the man very kindly offered to cancel them and rebook the same seats as I'd missed out on a family discount. Saved me £10 Smile.

Krazynights34 · 19/02/2020 01:09

Fucking no-one!
But then, some days are like that

FrenchFancie · 19/02/2020 05:29

Took DD skiing for the first time yesterday and another British guy helped me out when the lift bloke yelled at Dd for falling over and crying. Generally the other lovely families on the nursery slope all pitching in and helping each other’s kids.

TheDuchessofDukeStreet · 19/02/2020 06:14

We have a little tree on our step that blew over in the high winds the other day and the pot broke. My lovely neighbour repotted it, and when it happened again, repotted it again and swept away all the mess. It’s now in an unbreakable pot, sheltering against his wall.

kemosabeimalone · 19/02/2020 08:10

DS1 (11yrs) fed the cat and his younger brother breakfast when he got up this morning. Thankfully not the same thing tho’ smile].
