If I loved Fleabag what else should I watch?

I've just rewatched Fleabag and suffering withdrawal symptoms Sad

Please tell me what else I can watch that's original, funny, feminist, touching...

Is there anything that comes remotely close?!

Crashing on Channel written and starring Phoebe is also v good and funny, but in a different way.

KurriKawari · 02/02/2020 22:24

Channel 4

FleabagTeabag · 02/02/2020 22:25

Catastrophe is BRILLIANT.

I’d say nothing comes remotely close

In terms of blending comedy with depth of emotion and incredibly sharp dialogue, there’s a sort of link with Sex and the City but that has dated very badly.

Crashing is kind of amusing.

On a totally different note, have you watched Killing Eve? There’s a blend of hilarity and grimness there that might appeal.

MaisieMaisie · 02/02/2020 22:31

See I loved Fleabag and hated Catastrophe.
I loved The Marvellous Mrs Maisel (it gets better and better as it goes, Season 3 being the best)

AutumnRose1 · 02/02/2020 22:35

I managed about 20 mins of Catastrophe.

chesterpester · 02/02/2020 22:36

I love FB & like Killing Eve, Motherland, Catastrophe & Workin moms

Snozzlemaid · 02/02/2020 22:36

I recently loved This Way Up with Aisling Bea and Sharon Horgan. It's on catch up I think on All 4.

Xmasbaby11 · 02/02/2020 22:37

Catastrophe!

turnedabout · 02/02/2020 22:46

Just saw on another thread bbc4 are showing This Life starting tmoro night.
It was the precursor of Fleabag in my opinion.

movehimintothesun · 02/02/2020 22:50

Slightly different, but brilliant..... Derry Girls.

peachgreen · 02/02/2020 22:52

Oh This Way Up is a great shout.

MurrayTheMonk · 02/02/2020 22:53

Girls with Lena Dunham in it.

Hercwasonaroll · 02/02/2020 22:54

Derry girls is different but funny.

Rev is great if you have any kind of Christian background.

Mum

Spritesobright · 02/02/2020 22:54

I loved Fleabag as well. I just started watching Shrill and I'm really liking it. It's on bbc catch up.
I take it you've seen Girls?

eternalfun · 02/02/2020 22:54

Sex education is very funny.

MurrayTheMonk · 02/02/2020 22:55

I'd like a cross between fleabag and a twisted and more modern version of sex and the city... and Adam driver is also in it and looks hot.

Megan2018 · 02/02/2020 22:57

Better Things

It’s American but Pamela Adlon is genius.
It’s not the same as Fleabag as nothing is, but it’s still incredibly well written and produced

snappycamper · 02/02/2020 23:06

Came here to say better things but I see a pp has beaten me to it. It's on bbc iPlayer at the moment

Justasecondnow · 02/02/2020 23:10

Bo jack horseman - it’s animated and stars a horse.. if you can get your head round that... it’s very funny and chock full of pathos. Bo jack is not a feminist but the characters Diane & Princess Carolyn (who’s a cat) are.

Um. I realise I’ve made it sound bad but it’s good. 93% on rotten tomatoes.

StillMedusa · 02/02/2020 23:19

Upright! (Sky/Now tv)
Incredible...

SomeHalfHumanCreatureThing · 02/02/2020 23:20

Upright is amazing. As is Please Like Me (prime)

knightlight · 02/02/2020 23:25

Girls is fantastic - hard to find though as it's HBO network I think.

Workin moms was great too (netflix)
