Rare visit to primark. What should I buy?

I'm in my closest town centre for work tomorrow which has a fairly large primark. I'm planning on popping in to have a browse. What should I keep my eye out for?

Pyjamas and fluffy socks.

HappyHammy · 27/01/2020 21:09

Cotton vests and teeshirts
Pyjama bottoms
Socks
Cotton wool
Flipflops
Teatowels
Bath room towels

Poetryinaction · 27/01/2020 21:10

Vests
A hoodie
Leggings

Creas35 · 27/01/2020 21:11

There’s a Plain jumper with zips on the side I got it in black and it looks really good with leggings, jeans, slouchy trousers it’s casual but goes with everything. I don’t normally bother with Primark much but glad I got this it was £12.

ouch321 · 27/01/2020 21:12

I don't buy clothes there as I have found the quality to be low in the past, ie gets baggy quickly, twisty seams etc.

But they have a huge range of cheap packs of socks, I got some v cute tights the other day with polka dots and another with little hearts.

Also got a matching grey scarf, gloves and hat with teeny pearls on the end for about £15.

Also Vaseline for 80p.

Other cheap stuff that I'd buy there is wrapping paper, toiletry bags etc etc.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 27/01/2020 21:12

Womens:-
The cotton long leg pj bottoms
The white plimsols
Knickers

Kids:-
Pjs (size up)
Girls leggings

Home:-
Bedding
Towels

Other:-
They do lots of Harry potter stuff if you have a fan in the fam.
The tills is a great spot to pick up cotton pads, bobbles, other little bits.

WorraLiberty · 27/01/2020 21:14

Yes, good point about twisty seams, especially on t.shirts.

Check closely before you buy.

mytypeonpaper · 27/01/2020 21:15

Their thongs with no elastic is the only underwear I'll wear they're soooooo comfy!

TitchyP · 27/01/2020 21:16

The fluffy wash cloths in a box of three rather than cotton wool
All the make up but especially mascara in gold tube
Socks
Slippers
The fleecy lined tights and leggings
Shampoo in shiny tube

SpeedofaSloth · 27/01/2020 21:17

Socks and pants.

Jonb6 · 27/01/2020 21:19

Nothing, cheap crappy throw away clothing just adding to environmental issues.

WarmSausageTea · 27/01/2020 21:20

I got some pyjamas which I liked, but split around the undercarriage after 4-5 washes. Not impressed.

I like some of the hoodies, but not the cheaper ones, which have a horrible squeaky feel.

CMOTDibbler · 27/01/2020 21:20

The leggings labelled cosy - they are all fleecy inside and just lovely to wear
Cami dresses - like very long vests, and brilliant for layering or just actually staying tucked into your jeans if you are tall

Espoleta · 27/01/2020 21:20

Nothing? Unless you really really need something and then you buy that item (or maybe you go second hand?)

Oldbutstillgotit · 27/01/2020 21:22

PJs, summer tops , flip flops , casual trousers

KimchiLaLa · 27/01/2020 21:23

Pyjamas
Socks
Accessories aisle isn't bad nowadays
Baby clothes

cuckooken · 27/01/2020 21:24

Nothing. It's all crap that goes out of shape/bobbly/holey after a wear and a wash.

hotstepper4 · 27/01/2020 21:26

The character clothing is great, ds loves the Pokemon and minecraft stuff.
I have some fleece lined leggings which I wear all the time under a long top, whole outfit was £9.

I used to get stuff for my dsd there too, a lot of lovely girls things.

mummmy2017 · 27/01/2020 21:30

Great stuff for under 6 kids.
Or preteens.
You do know you can look at what they sell online. You just have to buy in store

ridiculousridiculousness · 27/01/2020 21:36

@mummmy2017 I didn't realise they had a website with all stock on. The last time I checked it was only new arrivals. Lost down a primark shaped rabbit hole now!!

I've got several of their plain black t-shirts - both short and long-sleeve - and they've lasted really well, a couple are several years old now.

leggings
t-shirts
socks
hair elastics
HP stuff
scarves
reading glasses

We've also been pleased with bedding throws etc.

misspiggy19 · 27/01/2020 21:40

Nothing. Cheap clothes made for the throwaway generation.

moanyhole · 27/01/2020 21:41

Bed linen is great. I have some sheets and kids duvets going strong for years now and no fading.

Kids denims are grand, as are girls leggings. Bras are fine. Great value for socks. Nothing wrong with them also girls hair accessories.
Sunglasses are fine and cheap as chips. I lose them all the time so better to buy from there.
Kids tops are poor quality, dont bother.

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 27/01/2020 21:44

The cosy leggings, vaseline and the hair turban thingamajig that you wrap your wet hair in.

MeanwhileAtNumber98 · 27/01/2020 21:44

Ps- you'll get all of those for approx £6
