For me

  • diet bores
  • people who refer to ‘my husband/partner/boyfriend’ I’ve known you for 5 years if you say ‘John’ I know who you are talking about!

I have a noisy eater in my office 🤮

I sometimes sit with my finger in my ear under my hair to stifle the disgusting sounds.

SeaViewBliss · 05/01/2020 10:07

-Loud talkers (large open plan)
-Meeting hoggers who have usually missed the point
-Reply all emailers
-Did you watch strictly? No, I tell you every week I don’t watch it and I don’t want you to tell me about it either!!

Nirvana1979 · 05/01/2020 10:10

Noisily making her way through a multipack of crisps before its even 11am

Slurping her tea

Butting in to every conversation i have.

Reading my emails over my shoulder

Trying to take over my work

Never answering the external calls.

Sneezing/coughing all over the place and never covering her mouth 🤢

Eating all the chocolates over the festive period.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 05/01/2020 10:10

The ones already moaning that they haven’t got enough money to last the month because we got paid early in December so they spent their January money then.

Even back when I had trouble making ends meet I knew that my early December pay had to last until the end of January.

AhoyMrBeaver · 05/01/2020 10:10

Schadenfreude. A couple of colleagues seem to take the mistakes made by others as a feather in their own cap.

ThisLittlePiggyWentTo · 05/01/2020 10:12

Noisy eating. Blood boils. They are completely unaware of their horrific habits.

Tyrozet · 05/01/2020 10:15

One of the people I work with is very "heavy handed". We work in a small space and he constantly slams drawers, chucks piles of paperwork onto the surfaces, batters the mouse against the desktop. He also practically shouts down the phone at everyone he speaks to.

It sets me on edge - I'm naturally anxious and aside from how annoying it is I can't focus when he starts banging about.

He is otherwise lovely though.

TheNinkiestNonk · 05/01/2020 10:21

Laziness. She does the bare minimum needed but always makes sure she has time to have a fag break 4/5 times a day. Because of this doesn't have a lunch break so sits and eats her stinky food on reception. Distracts other members of staff and constantly tells you what she's done that day and that she is so busy

FrenchyQ · 05/01/2020 10:22

Egg mayonnaise in the tea room.... Makes me queasy and end up sitting in my car at lunchtime.

imnottoofussed · 05/01/2020 10:24

Noisy eater who also smacks her lips when eating and other random times like when having a cup of tea. She also joins the conversation when it's nearly over having not paid any attention and expects you to repeat the whole thing, does the same thing in team meetings how she hasn't been pulled up on that yet I don't know. She whistles and sings along to the radio, asks questions she should know the answer to as she asked it you the previous hundred days and is generally shit at her job.

And she is back in after the Christmas break tomorrow god help me.

Longdistance · 05/01/2020 10:25

We have a noisy eater. She crunches vegetables really loudly in the office. My colleague shouts ‘the horse is back in the office!’

Ledkr · 05/01/2020 10:27

Piss takers.
Sickness just after a holiday or around Xmas. Same person.
People hardly in the office as working at home which often means others can't as not enough office cover.
People who are pally with the managers or managers themselves who seem to get more time off and compassion for family issues while others are lucky to get a day or two.
I'm glad I'm only part time Angry

CalmFizz · 05/01/2020 10:28

Someone who doesn’t listen to people speaking/doesn’t catch it all and at least 10/15 times per hour will do an aggressive grunted ‘huh?’ To get something repeated. It’s so rude and winds me right up! I wouldn’t mind half as much if she said pardon/what but the expectant ‘huh!?’ Sets me on edge.

TheTurnOfTheScrew · 05/01/2020 10:29

One of the people I shared an office with always moans about "I have 4 reports to finish, 3 conference calls and a meeting at HQ!" - when it's stuff that is simply the bread and butter of our job. I am not sure what she thinks we should be doing if she wasn't doing all of that.

Also people who can't be trusted with the Reply All button. I don't need to be cc'ed into 12 people all thanking someone for the same thing.

DeeZastris · 05/01/2020 10:30

People who constantly eat
Blatant arse lickers
People who are not team players
Constant sick notes - no appreciation that someone else has to go your job for no extra money

MaidenMotherCrone · 05/01/2020 10:31

Their presence.
Their racism.
Their entitled attitude.
Mostly their presence.

This is a group of people not one person.

Newyearnewme2020 · 05/01/2020 10:32

Eating a roll with onions in it at her desk in an open plan office.

ageingdisgracefully · 05/01/2020 10:33

People who "perform" their tasks. Loudly. With a running commentary.

People who take sick leave every Monday. Leaving gubbins to cover. Why are these people never brought to book?

Managers who don't manage and pick you up on stuff that THEY should have told you about.

emilybrontescorsett · 05/01/2020 10:40

Non team players.
Looking over my shoulder at my work.
Not answering the phone.
Dawdling at the end of the day when I want to go home but can't because I have to lock the external doors and can't until you get your arse out of the door! Ffs don't leave everything until the last minute. Oh and then just as I'm about to lock the door and set the alarm, decide that actually you do need to go back into the buliding, into your locked office to get something that absolutely can wait until tomorrow. Then come back without it, asking me If you do need it or should you leave it😠.
Ffs it's now past our working day and I want to go home!

Genvonklinkerhoffen · 05/01/2020 10:42

Liars, lazy people, looooong emails but no action, arse lickers, misogyny.

dementedma · 05/01/2020 10:46

One who quite simply never stops talking. It drives the rest of us insane. People resort to putting headphones in "to concentrate" but its just to block her out.

Urmasellsavon · 05/01/2020 10:46

Smelly people, who clearly do t wash themselves or their clothes often
Slurpers
Greedy feckers who devour the office biscuits and don’t seem to ever be full. Boke

StormBaby · 05/01/2020 10:47

I start a new job tomorrow, thank god, but I've just spent two years in an office full of the worst humans possible. They would;
*never ever answer the phone. It makes me happy knowing that I'm gone now so they have to. Grin
*say things like "if a girl dresses like a slut she deserves to be raped"(this is coming from young women, who all dress like 'sluts'), or "you'd have to be stupid to end up poor/homeless" from people who live at home still, or daddy pays their car insurance, or their nan still gives them a £200 a month allowance
*make mistakes or misinform my clients while I'm on holiday, using my name on the email, so I have to look like I'm insane by backtracking on my return
*forget to inform me of changes to early start times, so I'd be sat there half an hour unpaid

chipsandgin · 05/01/2020 10:51

Just the noisy eater - the one who eats nuts (or possibly it’s a bag of nails, it’s hard to tell..) all day, every day in a silent office. It makes me very stabby & my Christmas present to myself is a pair of noise cancelling headphones, I’m not sure how practical they will be though as I’m the only person in my role & people often come over to my desk to ask questions etc several times an hour. We’ll see!

chipsandgin · 05/01/2020 10:52

All lovely people otherwise!!
