What have you forgotten this Christmas?!

Well I decided to have a relaxed Christmas Eve....

A quick mental check means that I’ve forgotten

Crackers
Bread sauce / stuffing mix
Bread for Homemade bread sauce and stuffing mix

But I have lots of gin... and tonic and wine for mulling

I reckon I’ll be ok! What have you forgotten?!

I remembered to buy myself some roses!

Crackers for cheese!

But no bang crackers 🤦🏻‍♀️

And I haven’t made cheesecake cause there’s no room in the fridge - oops!

We kind of forgot to go and get a voucher for my OHs parents so need to hope and pray that they don’t pop by tomorrow Blush

Not sure what else we have forgotten. There will definitely be something!!!

IndianaMoleWoman · 24/12/2019 20:47

Cocktail sticks to pin pigs to blankets. I’m sure we’ll find a way round it.

Fake bacon
(It’s probably no great loss, TBH)

CanoeDoYouThinkYouAre · 24/12/2019 20:48

Not forgotten but thanks to Hermes being utter wankers DH doesn't have any presents. We do however have lots of gin so he'll struggle through!

Nonnymum · 24/12/2019 20:49

Bacon to put on top of the turkey and to check I have enough foil

Cherry83 · 24/12/2019 20:49

Potatoes!! Had to send DH our to buy some today after big delivery yesterday and multiple trips to supermarket over the last week.

busylifebusywife · 24/12/2019 20:53

Carrots for rudolf.

ScreamingValalalalahLalalalah · 24/12/2019 20:55

Nearly forgot chutney for the cheeseboard, but braved Tesco Metro in my lunch hour to get some. Hectic it was!

Murrfect · 24/12/2019 21:04

Ooo and not much milk but loads of extra thick double cream - what can go wrong?

forgot to get a present for my grandsons mom (son and her split) but luckily no shortage of gift bags and bars of chocolate bought in for Christmas so she now has chocolates for Christmas

readyforchangenow · 24/12/2019 21:05

Stuffing!

Kanga83 · 24/12/2019 21:06

Technically not forgotten but amazon/Royal Mail have totally fucked up an order that's been stalled twice, promised would be here by today and is now 'lost in transit and out of stock'. I'm going to have a very sad 3 year old tomorrow if he notices

TitianaTitsling · 24/12/2019 21:08

Chuffing frozen peas... Apparently they are a big part of the Christmas dinner according to DH.

Ciwirocks · 24/12/2019 21:12

I forgot to go to the butchers today so no fry up for us 😬. Cereal for Christmas Day breakfast and luckily we are having Christmas dinner at the in laws.

justthecat · 24/12/2019 21:12

I personally am very organised, but just threw into the mix to dh have you wrapped your secret Santa (family) present ? The look of total panic on his face, where did I put it !!!
It’s been under the Xmas tree for a week
( wrapped by me) no clue whatsoever

Mum2jenny · 24/12/2019 21:19

Icecream but in sure we can survive without it.

Wonkybanana · 24/12/2019 21:48

Came into Chat to start the same thread.

Lemons! But I have bottled lemon juice, I'll cope.

At least I remembered the cooking apples this year (DP's trek round the little garage/supermarkets for apples, often resulting in apple sauce made with eating apples, is now an integral part of Christmas Eve night).

jellycatspyjamas · 24/12/2019 21:54

Both of my sons favourite cuddle toys, which are now on a mini-break at my sisters house. If he realises they’re missing I’ll be making a 2 hour trip to retrieve them - they usually don’t leave his side.

Bessiebigpants · 24/12/2019 22:04

Advocat there was none at the supermarket at all!
Bread sauce Ditto, I'm going to have to attempt to make my own!
Not important as I'm the only one who likes them but still
I also planned to buy a turkey crown this year but DP overruled me and we have a Tyrannosaurus rex in a cool box and no disposable tin thingy which is a first world problem

hiphiphoorayback · 24/12/2019 22:07

Nearly forgot chutney for the cheeseboard,

Chutney for cheeseboard! Grin

TWD89 · 24/12/2019 22:09

Jesus I completely forgot to put crackers on the table.

Thank you for the reminder Blush

JayAlfredPrufrock · 24/12/2019 22:10

Parsnips.

Dd says I’ve ruined Christmas

Moltenpink · 24/12/2019 22:10

Icing for the cake, but I’ve just put the marzipan on & some sprinkles, and it looks ok 🤷‍♀️

TheGriffle · 24/12/2019 22:11

Batteries. Went to Tesco, specifically for batteries, I did not buy the batteries.
