Clouring book and crayons.
Magazines, bunty, Judy or Misty.
Paper dolls in a book with dressing up clothes.
Magic drawing slate.

I'm in my late forties.

Limpshade · 20/12/2019 05:01

InsertFunnyUsername · 20/12/2019 05:11

Mid 20s. Chocolate coins, books, paints and contouring pencils etc.

superfandango · 20/12/2019 05:26

My family didn’t do stockings when i was wee in the 90s. We used to get one of those selection boxes that came in a net stocking.
We do stockings for our dc with chocolate coins, a satsuma, a toothbrush, a tube of smarties and a little toy (e.g. hot wheels car).

wendz86 · 20/12/2019 06:16

A satsuma , nuts , chocolate coins and socks (still get the same Grin)

TipseyTorvey · 20/12/2019 06:43

I'm well over 40 but I got similar to above except with the addition of an annual every year so Beano when younger, Bunty when a bit older. Have carried this on for DC but with minecraft annual for eg. Hoping the combination of sweets and a book keeps them quiet for a bit!

SecondaryBurnzzz · 20/12/2019 06:49

Satsuma, chocolate coins and a Jackie annual

NemophilistRebel · 20/12/2019 06:53

Lollypalooza · 20/12/2019 06:54

Knickers and socks, a toothbrush, bubble bath/shower gel, chocolate coins, a satsuma/clementine in the toe.

Thecomfortador · 20/12/2019 06:56

Late 30s...
Satsuma
10p when they were those big 10p coins that looked impressive
Sponge / toothbrush
Matey bubble bath
Chocolate coins
big tube of smarties
Chocolate orange
Bits of crap / little toys

I so much loved opening a stocking

katienana · 20/12/2019 06:56

When I was under about 12 the stocking was a pair of mums tights! We would get a satsuma, chocolate coins, nuts in shells, little toys. As we got older more toiletries like hair bubbles, cotton wool, face wipes, nail polish, random stuff like a sewing kit.
We used to sneak the nutcracker upstairs on Christmas eve so we could have the nuts!

Thecomfortador · 20/12/2019 06:57

Oh those magic trees, yes!

Stravapalava · 20/12/2019 06:58

Late 30s...

Chocolate orange
Colouring pencils
Cheapy novelty toys
Novelty books - like joke books / fact books
Bubble bath or soap

dingdongmer · 20/12/2019 08:04

I never had an actual stocking until I was 31 when I met hubby!! Santa would leave a black bag with presents and parents would leave a couple under the tree

Ffsnosexallowed · 20/12/2019 08:06

Didn't have one

CrowleysBentley · 20/12/2019 08:14

I'm 43. I used to get chocolate coins, bubbles, polystyrene glider, bouncy ball, random little pocket money type toys, jokes, magic tricks.

One year my dad snuck those cork popgun things in and my mum was not impressed. We played with them all day, and they were really loud and annoying.

DinosApple · 20/12/2019 08:38

Yy. A satsuma, choc coins, a trick, some small toys. When I was older there was some cosmetics etc. Seriously stockings are the best! We always used one of my dad's socks and I got a stocking from my parents until I was 24 Xmas Grin. Mid thirties now.

Egghead68 · 20/12/2019 08:41

We had a pillow case but can of coke, tangerine, chocolate coins and selection pack, jokes like whoopee cushions, those magic crystal tree things...

CatintheFireplace · 20/12/2019 08:41

Always a fortune telling fish (actually still get this as MIL does stockings for everyone including adults Grin)

AlaskaElfForGin · 20/12/2019 08:44

I'm 52 so it's a very distant memory of a pillowcase with satsuma, chocolate, little jigsaw or something.

LoadOfBaubles · 20/12/2019 08:45

I’m in my 40s and we got an actual long sock stuffed with very small items left at the end of our bed.

Inside we might find pencils, scented erasers, small stationery set, ribbons for our hair, dinky little toys, Bodyshop lip balms and bath pearls in later days - with a satsuma, nuts and chocolate coins at the bottom.

Absolutely loved it!

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 20/12/2019 08:45

I remember a cracker, pound coin, chocolate coins and an Annual. Sure there was a lot more though!
