But not necessarily xmas food iykwim.Ours are:

Salted peanuts

Pickled onions

Mini frozen sausage rolls

Nothing particularly special about any of them but it wouldnt be xmas unless we had them in the house.

Crackers. I didn't even know about cheese boards until maybe 5 years ago? DH was shocked. We used to get more cheese in at Christmas, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Brioche tear away rolls.
Waffles (the fancy breakfast ones not potato wafles)
Pate

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/12/2019 11:22

Mince pies. Baileys. Turkey, only ever have that at Christmas.

longwayoff · 17/12/2019 16:07

Timeslip! Boxes of dates, my mum used to buy them, I think they may have been around in wartime Christmases when sugar was rationed and she got used to them. Not a fan.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/12/2019 16:14

Dates were only bought for my dad who never ate them. They were really sticky and had a little plastic fork in a paper box thingy. Were still there in February along with all the nuts he hadn't cracked!

SilverySurfer · 17/12/2019 16:19

A free range capon
Chestnuts which go into my home made stuffing
a jar of pickled walnuts to go with cold meat, salads and bubble & squeak on Boxing Day
Red cabbage and apple
White stilton cheese
Brandy butter
Medjool dates

Katinski · 17/12/2019 16:19

Those dates, were they in a long box-thing with pics of palm trees on them? Eat Me, I think they were. Not that Dad would ever let us as much as try them -they were HIS, I tell ya...
Bailey's on offer at Morrisons, so I might buy a bottle of that to make Coffee-with-a-kick, great start to chilly mornings.
Mince pies.
Christmas puds when they're reduced after christmas.Rather partial to christmas pud and ice cream mid-julyGrin

I love it Smile
