All the crazy ingredients for my ham glaze:
Pineapple juice
Cranberry jelly
Pomegranate molasses
Powdered mustard
Star anise

And the chef’s treat- a bottle of sparkling Shiraz!

Zaphodsotherhead · 17/12/2019 19:05

Squirty cream
Cheese footballs (is it just me or are they REALLY hard to find this year? I bought a few tubs in The Range, and they are smaller than all the other tubs of snacks, more expensive and harder to find, do they have crack in or something?)
Proper real stuffing with apricots and chestnuts and 'stuff' in.
Bake it at home bread
Flavoured creams
Fresh orange juice
Croissants

..pretty much everything really. I live alone and am on a running diet, so eat only raw or low carb food, so when the kids come round I have to stock the cupboards!

Willow2017 · 17/12/2019 20:10

Zaphod
Yep very hard to find this year so I bought 2 boxes 😁
They are very addictive so maybe it's the crack?

Vinorosso74 · 17/12/2019 20:18

A box of crackers (for eating with cheese). Stilton. I may have to buy some After Eights after reading this thread. I usually buy a bottle of Disarrano but am trying to declutter so will make do with whatever is in the drinks cupboard. Anyone for made up cocktails come over to ours!

SheisMammyof2 · 17/12/2019 20:19

Ithinkwerealonenowtiffany · 17/12/2019 21:07

There isn’t any! We eat nuts/pate/copious amount of cheese/etc through the year,

sueelleker · 17/12/2019 22:23

Anyone remember boxes of crystallised Chinese gooseberries? My friend's mum used to have them at Christmas - but they were posh
Do you mean Chinese Figs? I loved those, and still miss them.

Disfordarkchocolate · 17/12/2019 22:28

After dinner mints
Cranberry sauce
Port
Mince pies
I'd buy cream with brandy in all year around if the sold it.

Mum2jenny · 17/12/2019 22:30

Mince pies
Sprouts
Chestnuts

Sal4533 · 17/12/2019 22:41

No one has mentioned marzipan fruits! Only have these at Christmas and they are amazing! Hoping Tesco has them in...

DisgraceToTheYChromosome · 17/12/2019 22:46

Sprouts, smoked salmon, brandy for the butter and the pudding, celeriac, pickled walnuts, panettone, stollen, lebkuchen, champagne for breakfast.

TreeSwayer · 17/12/2019 22:48

Pistachios in the shell as it slows down consumption, plus there is something fantastical about prising the shell open.

Terry's Chocolate orange - a gift from my Dad
Profiteroles
Chutney

TheWoodsareDarkandDeep · 17/12/2019 22:50

Turkish delight

Cornishclio · 17/12/2019 22:52

Chocolates
Baileys
Mince pies and clotted cream
Pringles as they just go far too quickly and best if we are limited to individual packets of crisps rather than a long tube.
We don't normally buy fancy biscuits or tons of cake either or desserts.

All the stuff which is bad for us in other words but I mainly buy it to offer guests.

AnnoyingSatsumaInMyStocking · 17/12/2019 23:00

Gammon
Shortbread
Sherry
Ginger wine (for a whiskey Mac)
Fruit cake (homemade)
Panettone

gemdrop84 · 17/12/2019 23:17

A chocolate log cake for our Christmas eve buffet, Baileys (or a good tasting copy: an essential for me when I'm wrapping the kids presents on Christmas eve), a nice big box of biscuits, lots of different cheeses, crackers, chestnuts for the sprouts and turkey.

nowaypose · 18/12/2019 01:21

Cranberry Wensleydale although I’d gladly eat it all year round Grin.
Appeteasers
Ritz crackers for some reason
Honey roasted peanuts

nowaypose · 18/12/2019 01:25

I always buy shloer but no one really likes it. J20 gets devoured in seconds. I was going to say Boursin cheese but I do put that in salads sometimes throughout the summer.

JudyDenchsBloomers · 18/12/2019 02:53

Chocolate fingers
Baileys
Sprouts
Part baked rolls

We bring back dates from the ME - nothing like the Eat Me abomination that puts so many off. Khidri dates stuffed with candied orange are the best! In the UK I think you can buy them from Bateel.

marshmallowss · 18/12/2019 07:01

Baileys.
Sausage meat and puff pastry for the most amazing sausage rolls
Tubs and tubs of chocolate

longwayoff · 18/12/2019 11:58

Thomas Fudge's Florentines. Oh, they're good. Get 2 packs at least
Smoked salmon
Crosta & Mollica pugliese bread for toast
Costa & Mollica frozen apricot croissants
Panettone
Italian almond crescent biscuits, Ricciarelli from M&S
