Dry sherry, but DP keeps feeding his fruit cakes with it. Each Christmas I buy a bottle and try again.

Shinyshoes2 · 17/12/2019 16:29

Baileys is a TENNER For a litre at the moment in tesco if you have a clubcard

Salted peanuts, Turkish delight, tub of quality street, sausage rolls, cocktail sausages, sugar mice, those boxes of dates, mixed bags of nuts in their shells, pringles, a box of cheese biscuits, stilton, after eight mints or mint matchsticks, pickled beetroot. None of the aforementioned was ever bought except at Christmas.

Bread sauce. I don't even know what you're supposed to eat it with but it's ok the order for next week!

Jupiters · 17/12/2019 17:17

Elizabeth Shaw mints and Canadian cheddar.

Tink1990 · 17/12/2019 17:36

Baileys! And snowballs, and chocolate biscuits in a tin and cranberry sauce and tin of chocolates!

lilgreen · 17/12/2019 17:42

Bread sauce is lush but I make mine. Serve it with the turkey @christmasbow. Put it in a bowl on the table.

katy1213 · 17/12/2019 17:46

I'm pretty sure I haven't eaten a sprout since last year!
Anyone remember boxes of crystallised Chinese gooseberries? My friend's mum used to have them at Christmas - but they were posh!

MrsSwears2Much · 17/12/2019 17:49

Fancy cheese boards.
Spanish cured meat platters
Whipped cream (can) for hot choc.
Tins of chocolates.

Frenchw1fe · 17/12/2019 17:49

christmasbow · 17/12/2019 17:50

Thanks @lilgreen I'm a terrible cook Blush so Christmas is very much out an M&S Packet here, maybe I should try to make it though!

TheDogsMother · 17/12/2019 17:52

Baileys, After Eights

Gertie75 · 17/12/2019 17:52

Turkey
Cheeselets
Black forest gateau.

For those who like Bailey's the Aldi version is just as good and ( I think) £3.79

lilgreen · 17/12/2019 17:56

@christmasbow I’m sure it will be fine. DM used to buy a packet mix then spruce it up by stirring in a dollop of cream and a bit of nutmeg on the top. It’s easy to make but I still like the packet version too. I’m sure M&S’s will be fab.

Willow2017 · 17/12/2019 17:57

Cheese football's (only because you can't get them.any other time )
Same with stollen.
Cocktail cherries
Dates.

The only thing I can think of is those tins of quality street etc.

I honestly can’t think of anything else I only buy at Christmas. I’m obviously far too good to myself!

PrincessHoneysuckle · 17/12/2019 18:02
