What do you spend your Christmas bonus on?

Have just been informed by my boss that I will be receiving a £1000 bonus after tax for Christmas. This is a LOT to me as we never usually get bonuses. Sitting here thinking and I have NO idea what to do with it.

If u have nothing in mind, how about saving in? Not exciting as such right now, but when u do really want something how great would it be that u have that money to splurge? Ooo exciting!

I've never had as a nurse , if it was me I'd put it towards an amazing holiday or home improvements

Never had a bonus, Christmas or otherwise. That’s what happens when you work in public services.

If you have nothing specific in mind, get something nice for yourself with maybe £100-200, and then save the rest?

Last year we put £1000 of my dh's bonus towards a holiday to Disneyland Paris! This year it will go on bills!

If I could, I would give every single NHS worker a huge bonus so that you could all have an amazing Christmas with your families. Especially after today's result! Thanking every single one of you for the amazing work you do every day.

If I were you I'd save most of it but I would maybe go to a spa with my hubby or treat my daughter.

Another NHS worker here. No such thing as a Christmas bonus.

If I could afford to splurge the lot, probably a new king size bed. We have a standard double but are now resigned it sharing it with the kids for some time to come. So some more room would be nice!

Or a fab coffee machine.

Public sector worker, never have a bonus. However if I did - save £500, and spend the rest on a weekend away with somebody I wanted to treat.

I would probably hit the sales and replace things like coats and boots if needed. Or buy a new tv. Or put it in my holiday fund.

I don’t get one as I work in education but DH gets his “Christmas” bonus in April now as they changed it a few years ago. We use it for a holiday.

We spent DH's similar bonus on a coffee machine and a Hoover. We are saving whatever we have met after Christmas.
