What 'boring/stupid' adult things do you get excited about?

For example I bought a spray mop in the black Friday sales and I was so excited for it to arrive that I used it as soon as it was delivered on Saturday morning. Just used it again this morning and it brings me so much joy I don't know why Grin

I really enjoy good shopping at the supermarket, scanning the stuff , getting reductions with vouchers etc etc

Aerielview · 03/12/2019 21:30

Looking at the Aldi and Lidl leaflets to see what this week's specials are

m0therofdragons · 03/12/2019 21:32

My oven is being professionally cleaned in two weeks. I'm genuinely excited about this! I previously considered buying a new oven because it's 13 years old and I don't think it's ever been cleaned (we inherited it with the house a year ago).

When we've had a long spell of dry weather, yes I'm in the U.K. so not often and the garden is looking a bit dry, then rain comes, love the smell, petrichor is the name for that smell.
I'm excited that the plants and trees are getting the water that they need. I find myself saying, aw well the garden could do with some rain.
Also when I fill the bird feeders and I can watch all the different birds.

My spray mop - what a revelation!

My Dyson - almost makes hoovering enjoyable

My pink bathroom tiles, eventually persuaded the DH they were necessary

Little Greene paint - ridiculously poncy, but also the best paint I've ever come across. Totally worth the expense

A trip to the local tip. It’s so cathartic throwing bags of rubbish and cardboard in the skips. It’s even better when you time it right to watch the big mashing machine press all the crap down.

Winter2019 · 03/12/2019 21:50

Putting dirty laundry in washing machine, starting new bottle of shampoo, face wash, face cream etc, food shopping, clean bedding, buying something with really good discount 😊

DoctorTwo · 03/12/2019 22:02

When I'm walking with somebody and a blackbird starts singing I shush whoever is speaking so I can listen to him/them. Their song is magical.

userxx · 03/12/2019 22:41

@m0therofdragons Take before and after photos 👍. I love a fresh clean oven.

JoGose · 03/12/2019 22:45

Is it Tesco’s that have made all their Christmas party food cook at the same temperature? Was buzzing when I saw that ad.

I love my Sunday wash days, all bedding, towels, clothes etc in the wash and dryer. Scrub the house from top to bottom, wash the uniform for the week and iron it. You can’t beat it

thenightsky · 03/12/2019 22:46

Putting new tyres on the car. I'm sure my car feels more comfy and grips with more enthusiasm on the corners. I feel like I've made my car happy Grin

xmummy93x · 04/12/2019 00:38

Trying a new recipe and it all goes to plan and everyone enjoys eating it too! Batch cooked and froze 22 pizzas the other week and they were a big hit! I was sooooo happy

TheRattleBag · 04/12/2019 00:59

Laminating, closely followed by comb-binding Grin

DrivingMsCrazy · 04/12/2019 09:59

@TheRattleBag oh god how could I forget the joy of laminating? It's marvellous!!

TeaAddict235 · 04/12/2019 10:05

Washing and conditioning my hair myself!

New shampoos or conditioners

Writing my name out on forms (the rest bores me).

Finding perfect pens to write with

Seeing the seasonal changes in the garden.

ComisSousDePartie · 04/12/2019 10:06

Oh laminating is so warm and cuddly and wonderful!

Also, I give you washi-tape. Heaven, on a sticky roll.

Veronicat · 04/12/2019 10:07

I love pulling everything out of my kitchen cupboards and reorganizing them. I have actually planned my driving lesson slot today around it. 🙂

Ginfordinner · 04/12/2019 14:59

I spent all of Sunday morning happily sorting my kitchen cupboards out. So satisfying.

viccat · 04/12/2019 15:29

Comfortable clothes and shoes. Couldn't give a toss if they make me look shorter/fatter/older or whatever, I refuse to deal with restricting waistbands or painful feet now.

Sleepysquirrelin · 04/12/2019 15:50

Those free magazines you get at supermarket checkouts with recipes and gimmicky things to buy.
