Mine would be

“I’d trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday “...a line from Me and Bobby McGee ..one of my parents favourite songs and they are no longer here.

Needs must when the devil drives.

My beautiful best friend died two years ago and this was a saying I had never heard before I met her. We were always delighted to shoehorn it in to a conversation 🙂

I will never get a tattoo. Partly because you can’t change it at will - if it only lasted a year or something I might be tempted!

There are many Id quite like, but not one I’d want there for the rest of my life 🤷🏻‍♀️

Interesting to read what others would choose!

I have “and though she be but little she is fierce” from Shakespeare in relation to dd2

Nyctophyllia · 23/11/2019 23:41

"Abandon hope all ye who enter here" on the small of my back

“Every passing minute is another chance to turn it all around” from Vanilla Sky

I have loads of tattooed quotes Blush
Always - had it after my horse died, combined my HP love with my love for her and that word says it all for me
But still, like air, I'll rise
Without passion we'd be truly dead
I am woman now, I am made of steel

It's never too late to be who you might have been

safariboot · 24/11/2019 01:43

SCE to AUX

Yeah, I'm a nerd.

(For those who don't know: It was an instruction from Mission Control to the crew of Apollo 12 after their rocket got struck by lightning.)

I have several tattoos, most actually text, and this is nearly the first I ever wanted, but I've never managed to find a good place for it as it's absolutely loads of text:

and were your back as broad as heaven, and your purse full of gold, and did your compassion reach from here to hell itself, there is nothing you can do

From Cry The Beloved Country. I know it's awfully defeatist, but the words themselves are beautiful, poetic, elegant use of language. Such a succinct and lovely description of despair has moved me for nearly 40 years; I've never forgotten a word of it since the very first time I read it. And, frankly, sometimes there truly IS nothing you can do, and I suppose that's worth remembering.

JWrecks · 24/11/2019 02:18

@safariboot OOH! I really like that!

HalfManHalfLabrador · 24/11/2019 02:50

@Bunnybigears I have this on a T-shirt!! I would definitely get a Labyrinth themed tattoo.

When people are asleep we must all become alarm clocks.
If you love your fun, DIE FOR IT!

Avoid everything

Either...

Aut viam invenium aut faciam

Which means: I shall either find a way or make one.

Or...

Atticus

This pearl of wisdom:

If you had to have a phrase as a tattoo ,what would it be and why?
darkriver19886 · 24/11/2019 04:03

"I am the real me"

Royallyscrewed · 24/11/2019 04:06

But I have promises to keep,

And miles to go before I sleep,

Or

I am the master of my fate
I am the captain of my soul.

I’ll be okay, cause I’ve got the stars.
Lost family members and friends at a young age and I used to be told they lived in the stars and it’s something that still gives me comfort today. Also a great song!
