If you had to have a phrase as a tattoo ,what would it be and why?

Mine would be

It means no-one can take you away from me now, it's a line from a song DH and I loved, and it's a bit of a standing joke that my party trick was translating Latin phrases. I am planning a memorial tattoo but it won't have any words other than 'love you' in his handwriting.

I love both quotes. The second one is from a film I’ve always loved since I was a teenager, but also something I always think when things aren’t going too well.

I’ve got ‘enjoy what you can, endure what you must’. It’s something I read when I was 11 or so and it stuck with me.

The other one I would get is ‘tell them stories’ from his dark materials

Sorry OP but it meets your brief exactly as it is absolutely the only tattoo I would ever have and is a phrase. I think some of the above are great though.
