If you had to have a phrase as a tattoo ,what would it be and why?

Mine would be

“I’d trade all my tomorrows for one single yesterday “...a line from Me and Bobby McGee ..one of my parents favourite songs and they are no longer here.

'Pobody's nerfect'

OohEekAah · 23/11/2019 22:01

Lend me your hand and we'll conquer them all ❤️

fatulousatforty · 23/11/2019 22:02

"ALways"

SuperMeerkat · 23/11/2019 22:03

Urgh, I hate quote tattoos. So chavvy.

BlueEyedFloozy · 23/11/2019 22:03

I'm having one designed at the moment with the words "face it with a grin" from The Show Must Go On.

I also have one in mind for the future "fly the moon and reach for the stars" from Princes of the Universe.

Can you tell I'm a massive Queen fan 😁

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 23/11/2019 22:13

You sound lovely, Meercat.

pallisers · 23/11/2019 22:15

I can't imagine getting a tattoo but if I did I'd get

"Fail better"

from the Beckett quote "so you failed, no matter. Try again, fail again, fail better"

I have a friend whose father (would be in his 90s now) had a severe penicillin allergy. His mother had it tattooed on his arm and across his chest "Allergic to Penicillin"

ParkheadParadise · 23/11/2019 22:16

I have
Come on you bhoys in green
On my shoulder

Majorcollywobble · 23/11/2019 22:17

@IndianaMoleWoman
That’s lovely

Kraggle · 23/11/2019 22:26

Of course @OohEekAah. It felt a more appropriate nod to my favourite film than a tattoo of the Rocky Horror lips I wanted in my teen years!

nocoolnamesleft · 23/11/2019 22:28

Either "do not resuscitate" or the similar "no heroics"

fireandicecubes · 23/11/2019 22:29

@MrsFoxPlus4Again that line is from one of my favourite songs & I don’t know many people who’ve heard of it Flowers

peachgreen · 23/11/2019 22:32

Nothing good gets away.

From John Steinbeck's letter to his son. I comforted myself with it over and over when circumstances kept me apart from someone I loved for a year. We had the letter read at our wedding.

"And don’t worry about losing. If it is right, it happens—The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away."

@fireandicecubes 💙💙

BillywigSting · 23/11/2019 22:35

Don't waste your time or time will waste you

It's a quote from a muse song and I wish I'd heard it sooner

SageYourResoluteOracle · 23/11/2019 22:36

Better to go alone than badly accompanied

katseyes7 · 23/11/2019 22:38

l have a very short one. Two words, in Latin, tattooed on the inside of my wrist.
"Memento Mori". lt means "Remember death" (or remember that you will die).
l had it done after l recovered from a very bad time when my lungs packed up and l was investigated for lung cancer. Fortunately it wasn't that, but it was nasty and l was off work for four months.
lt's a bit of a Goth thing - it's dark, but it reminds me every day that l'm lucky to have that day, and one day there won't be a tomorrow, so to make the most of the time l have left.

peoplepleaser1 · 23/11/2019 22:38

Make your own kind of music
Play your own special song

From Mama Cass. I adore the song and it's a great reminder to me that's it's ok to be myself, even if that makes me different.

Warmhandscoldheart · 23/11/2019 22:40

"Release the flying monkeys" inside the shape of a witch's hat.

LemonPrism · 23/11/2019 22:40

@ifoundthebread

That means 'illegitimate rats' ??

OohEekAah · 23/11/2019 22:40

@Kraggle Fab! There's still time to get the lips 💋 😉 Couldn't help but put the soundtrack on since reading your phrase!

LIttleMissTickles · 23/11/2019 22:42

For all the Do Not Resuscitate comments, I would just say I've been resuscitated, and I'm so grateful I still get to watch my DC grow up, and I have a very happy, 'good quality' life. Please consider it carefully!

Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?

From Mary Oliver's The Summer Day.
