Mine is either crusty bread dipped in a marmite drink or fried eggs with mashed potato.

Potato waffles with cheese and a fried egg

Tinned spaghetti on toast with cheese and a fried egg.

Mash potato with a fried egg.

So basically, potato, cheese and eggs !

Nottobesoldseparately · 19/11/2019 16:25

Oh, I've just read your last line properly.

Everyone thinks I'm weird for wanting mash and egg!!

Grumpbum123 · 19/11/2019 16:28

Chicken super noodles

BarkandCheese · 19/11/2019 16:32

Either marmite on toast of chicken and sweet corn soup from the Chinese takeaway. The latter is really comforting when you’ve got a cold.

FairyJuice · 19/11/2019 16:33

Koka noodles or knife pasteria on toast. Or if things are really bad, a mountain of cream crackers and butter, except instead of buttering them normally I'll just scrape the butter out of the tub with the corner of the cracker 🙈

Mock crab with plenty of salt and pepper and toast.

Home made chicken and barley soup

GrouchyKiwi · 19/11/2019 16:37

Baked potatoes with lots of butter and beef casserole. I love Winter food.

Second favourite is macaroni cheese.

Third is fish pie.

Fake chicken burger, potato waffles and baked beans

SurpriseSparDay · 19/11/2019 16:38

Depends on the comfort needed.

Fury - wine.

Boredom - homemade cake.

Feeling unappreciated - M&S fresh vanilla custard, unheated, straight out of the tub.

granof3 · 19/11/2019 16:41

Perfect dish for you Nottobe.
In a traditional pudding bowl place sliced boiled egg cover in mash potatoes then cheese sauce, repeat the layers and sprinkle top with grated cheese. Place in oven for 15 to 20 mins.
Very simple but tasty.

sockittome123 · 19/11/2019 16:45

Homemade macaroni cheese with bacon and spring onions.
Beefeater's potato dippers (with cheese and spring onions) - wish they did them as a main!
My homemade brownies - everyone raves about them stealth boast not intended with my newly-invented gingerbread ice cream (haven't tried them together yet)

I like cooking, in case you hadn't noticed Grin

caringiscreepy · 19/11/2019 16:47

OlaEliza · 19/11/2019 16:54

If hungover, mcds or fish fingers, chips or waffles or smiley faces and beans.

If ill, chicken soup with dumplings.

BillieEilish · 19/11/2019 16:55

fish pie and peas

EmmiJay · 19/11/2019 16:56

My mums west indian soup. Omg. Its life. My new favourite guilty pleasure is sticky toffee pudding cups from sainsburys with ready made custard. Yum!

Sadandwontvoteagain · 19/11/2019 16:58

Mash is obvs food of the gods....

We had toad in the whole on Sunday and I made about 2kgs extra mash and tonight I’m going to have corned beef, mash and baked beans - all mushed together.... can’t wait for the kids to go to bed so I can watch trash tv and scoff my face...

I’ve got this dreaded virus that’s doing the rounds and feel terrible so treated myself to oxtail soup with boiled potatoes in it for lunch - that was proper comfort food and reminds me of my nanny who used to make it for us...

ainsisoisje · 19/11/2019 17:01

Mash potato (could eat plates of it), fried egg sarnies are so tasty - and chip butties. Yum!

ohmysoul · 19/11/2019 17:07

Toast with real butter and marmite or apple crumble and custard.

CountFosco · 19/11/2019 17:10

Chocolate
Cheese on buttered toast, but cheese not melted

If someone else is cooking then my Mum's lasagne.
