what is your favourite comfort food?

Mine is either crusty bread dipped in a marmite drink or fried eggs with mashed potato.

Beef, bacon and red wine casserole, dumplings and baked potato with butter.

Crunchy peanut butter on toast

Porridge, salted, with a little bit of cream stirred in.

Fish finger sandwich with plenty of ketchup!

Sunday dinner.
Chicken stew with dumplings.
Cake and custard.

Cheesy pasta (had this for dinner tonight)

Chicken super noodles (sometimes with a poached egg on top)

Soft boiled eggs with loads of buttery soldiers

Instant mash, instant gravy and mint sauce.

Forgot one, Heinz tomato soup with a cheese sandwich to dip in.

Rich beef stew with fluffy dumplings

Noodles

Homemade lamb and lentil soup with Jacobs crackers crumbled in fur croutons

Generally pissed off - wine or vodka - no food required

When did mashed potato become mash potato?

It's always been mashed potato or 'bangers and mash ' here. Never heard of mash potato maybe it's a regional thing?

Jacket potato with basically anything as long as there are lashings of lurpak salted butter and salt. Hot buttered white waurbutons medium bread toast. Roast chicken, pork, beef or lamb dinner with all the trimmings and my mams gravy, liver and bacon with cabbage and potato. Carby, salty buttery foods. Potato in any form with cheese, red sauce (ketchup) or eggs. Tinned meatballs in gravy with sainsburys instant mash with lots of lurpak or stork.

Starting this thread was a huge mistake. I just called in at three shops on my way home (night shift) to buy mashed potato and they were all sold out. The last one said they had sold several packs in the last day Some of you live near me....I'm going to find you and take your mash
