Here is another thread to discuss the PA interview and its repercussions.

He came to where I worked once and I was banned from meeting him as I said I wouldn't be curtseying to him. I was quite happy to say hello, shake his hand, make him a cup of tea etc but I wasn't gonna curtsey.
My boss said I had to, it was expected, am I an anti royalist, was I after a republic etc etc. I said I had every respect for the monarchy and the queen, but I wasn't going to curtsey to someone who, by an accident of birth, was in the position that he was.
PA went off to do what he'd come there for (big arrival in his helicopter, staff standing outside etc.) One of the chaps who went with them to do what he'd come there for said a few uncomplimentary things about him!
So glad I stuck to my guns, the other clerk was all over the curtseying like a rash!

I really wish there was an uprising against the monarchy - Charles's relationship with Saville, Rolf Harris being commissioned to do a royal portrait, and all this with PA. And we're the mugs who pay for these low lives!

My recently revived and upgraded republicanism has arisen from being told my whole life (which is a secret Grin) that the main reason for the constitutional position of the Monarch is because they would stop us descending into extremist governments, and that I should jolly well be grateful for that.

right up until we do get an extremist government, and it turns out I was sold a crock for decades.

So my initial feelings from a very early age - that Monarch and inherited privilege are feudal anachronisms - was spot on.

The sooner the whole rotten dynasty is gone, the better.

BBC News at 1 is about to say something about a letter contradicting an aspect of Andrew’s account of matters.

I agree with you @SerendipityJane - I was an absolute Royalist until this summer when BoJo showed us that the Monarchy is worthless. They are purely a Disneyland creation and PA has completely destroyed the illusion. Times have changed and so have we.

RhinoskinhaveI · 20/11/2019 13:26

I think the monarchy have tried to move with the times but their efforts have only made them look more anachronistic

AnyMinuteNow · 20/11/2019 13:41

Thought this was worth bringing over from the first thread too, to strengthen the call for investigating this so it won't get dropped.

Glad to see his sponsors are beginning to pull out. Unfortunately i have a feeling that this will all die a death in a few months and he'll be back to normal.

"I wonder what Auntie has to gain in witholding the Virginia Giuffre interview for another few weeks? How annoying. I want to see it now!"

Although I'm sure this is not the reason they are with-holding the interview until December, one result will be that it will keep this shit storm in the pubic eye, and PA will not be able to go back to being normal.

SerendipityJane · 20/11/2019 16:50

As we now know, the Monarch is just a cipher for the government of the day. So they are smarming up to the Tories. After all, Boris has told us that the Royals are "above reproach". So we should really be working on our doffing (and curtseying to the PP !).

I really can't wait for December 13th, when social order is finally returned, and everyone gets put into their rightful place - which is at the bottom where they should never have been allowed out of.

(Shudders) ....

I think The Sun, have offered a 10k reward for GM whereabouts.

BoreOfWhabylon · 20/11/2019 17:57

Breaking news: Prince Andrew stepping back from all public duties for forseeable future.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/11/2019 17:58

Literally just reported that Andrew's stepping back from public duties

And about time too ...

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/11/2019 17:58

You beat me to it ... Wink

spacepyramid · 20/11/2019 18:03

He'll probably still take the cash though.

Rosielily · 20/11/2019 18:05

Queen and Prince Philip are celebrating 72 years of marriage today. Wonder if they're having a celebratory dinner at Pizza Express, Woking! Confused

SirHumphreyDrinkalot · 20/11/2019 18:06

Trip Advisor has take down all the comments, SpoilSports Angry

SirHumphreyDrinkalot · 20/11/2019 18:08

And Andrew has said he’ll cooperate with the law enforcement authorities. Someone has had A Word with him, don’t you think?

Rosielily · 20/11/2019 18:10

What we already know/think we know us bad enough but I suspect there is a lot more to come out.

Rosielily · 20/11/2019 18:10

*is bad enough

Puzzledandpissedoff · 20/11/2019 18:17

Andrew has said he’ll cooperate with the law enforcement authorities

Yeah right Hmm He also said he "continues to regret" the association with Epstein and that's a crock of s**t too - after all he didn't say that in the interview, just as he expressed no feeling for the victims he now pretends to sympathise with

Rotten to the core ...

QueenOfTheAndals · 20/11/2019 18:17

Exactly @spacepyramid, he's basically been put on gardening leave.

JaimeBronde · 20/11/2019 18:19

I've heard that the Queen is very very slow to anger, but when she does blow.......you know about it.
I can imagine the atmosphere right now at Buckingham Palace is colder & darker than a nuclear winter.
And my ears are ringing 100 miles away.
One is not at all amused.

LarkDescending · 20/11/2019 18:26

I wonder whether Princess Beatrice has been told to have a very quiet and unshowy wedding. (I'm sure Pizza Express Woking could offer a very affordable reception package).

beanaseireann · 20/11/2019 18:32

Did anyone watch the Channel4 Dispatches programme "The Prince and the Paedophile" ?

Very insightful.
