Yes indeed. I think that might also be a reason for H&M to not go to Sandringham, the traditional church visit will be used by the media to scrutinize everything they say, do, etc. during those probably 7 minutes the public gets to see them.

A former colleague was at a local Christmas event (a big one) a few years back and was in the queue for the loo behind Kate and Charlotte - so I deduce that yes, they will have been to see Santa.

He did snub her though. She spoke to him and he ignored her in favour of faffing with his scarf. She was standing right beside him so its doubtful he couldn't hear her. Whether it was intentional or not who knows

I don't blame them. Apparently it's freezing at Sandringham because the Queen is a fresh air fiend and leaves all the windows open, and it's too big for the central heating to be effective.

Do people actually think that christmas with the queen is some cosy family affair where they pull crackers and play board games after dinner over a tin of quality street though? Pretty sure it's more like a formal state dinner. Its probably frowned upon to even have more than a glass of wine to make the day more bearable. I mean, they really arent just a normal family are they? So while I'm sure there is some family drama behind the non attendance, the people painting it like they are missing out on some happy family dinner with all the kids running around etc are being ridiculous

I'm not going to spend Christmas with the Queen either. So what?

I'd love to think Meghan started this thread a la clemmie hooper on that other site. As a kind of boost to her self esteem

Well I have been out all day , so only just got home

So hear is my reply, I think that it’s very sad that they are not going to spend Christmas with Queen and Prince Phillip and the rest of the royal family!! I think it would be a good opportunity to build bridges and show the tabloids that there are no rifts in the family.

They did not go to Balmoral this summer which is also a very happy place for the Queen and the Prince Phillip. I just hope for Prince Harry sake that this is not his Grandfathers last Christmas as he is 98 and he might not have that many left.

I’m also sure if Prince Harry had asked the Queen would it be ok for Megan’s mother to come to stay at Sandringham this Christmas , that the request would have not fallen on deaf ears, as I’m sure the Queen knows how hard this year has been for Megan and Harry and that to include Megan’s mother would not be a unreasonable request.

And yes I will be spending Christmas with my in-laws because I don’t know how many more years they will be with us as they are also in there 90’s.

There's a delicious irony on someone getting all her up about how a stranger spends their Christmas and then accusing others of being "unhappy"

Can you imagine what Christmas at Sandringham is like? Sounds like a fucking nightmare. I'd be doing everything I could to serve that!

It’s not a happy place for Harry. It’s where he was told that his mother was dead.

I adore my mother.
I do not spend Xmas with her or any other family as we choose to spend the day ‘just us’. That’s DH, the kids and me. We just like to do our own stuff, make our own traditions, cook our own food.
I miss her and the rest of the family, but it works best for us.
I don’t hate her, or disagree with her and what she stands for, or hate being with family.
As an aside, I don’t want to spend a alarge part of my working/ social life and living space with my SIL.
People need to get over this imo.

They're going to veg in front of the tv and watch new series of The Crown👑(starts Sunday fans) after which poor Meghan will be planning a new home as far away as possible.
