Megan & Harry not going to spend Christmas with the QUEEN !!

I think this shows that the relationship with Megan and the rest of the family is just not a happy one !!

Most couples spend Christmas alternatively, with one set of inlaws and the other. Especially if the families live in two different countries. It's not as if H and M can have lunch with one family and dinner with the other.

The older Royals have felt obliged to spend EVERY single Christmas with one side of the family, because it's The Royals. It must have been galling for some of the people who married into the RF, always having to do that "because that's what we do". Good on H and M for showing some respect to Doria Ragland as the maternal grandmother.

Well, I must be a horrible person then, we are spending christmas at our own house, which actually was my DH's suggestion. We are not going to MIL, granny or my father. Even though we get along fine. Thankfully I'm a nobody so there are no headlines.

I'm spending Christmas day seeing everyone I have ever met in five minute intervals. I am a better person.

It's just her turn to go to her family op. We do one on one off with my in laws too. Or maybe they hate the Queen. Who knows.

I think the media are very unkind. She wants to relax away from all the tradition with a young baby. Kate did the same and there are plenty of people to spend Christmas with the Queen. It would be hard to be in such a formal environment all the time.

They spent the previous two christmases with the hubby's side of the family, this one will be with the wifes side of the family, 2 to 1 so far !, Think they absolutely need to agree to even it out, i.e next year with the wife's family, and then alternate equally.

I know which I would rather go to. I would imagine Christmas at the palace is very dull. I heard rumours that the food is awful too. With a young baby I would prefer a non-formal, relaxed Christmas. The Queen is just a human being who was born into wealth. I wouldn’t feel duty bound to treat her any differently because of it.

I never spend Christmas with my inlaws.

Unfortunately, I don't see this happening any time soon. It's so bizarre.

If I were them, I think I'd find it very difficult to spend Christmas with Andrew - the Queen has been very clear in showing solidarity with him over the past couple of months, so I guess he'll be at Sandringham. I wouldn't want to just play along.
