I think this shows that the relationship with Megan and the rest of the family is just not a happy one !!

I'm not a huge fan of MM however I do think it's unfair how the press have twisted this. Kate and William have spent christmas elsewhere since 2012, so why can't they?

formerbabe It's not an either/or. No one said we should worship them, and criticism is fair if it is fair criticism. But the overwhelming majority of criticism of Meghan is not fair, and is not based on constructive or fair criticism, but mindless and harmful spiteful gossip. And jealousy.

Personally, I really feel for Meghan Markle, especially after watching the documentary. I couldn’t imagine moving to another country, marrying into an establishment like the royal family, having my entire life (and whatever the press feel like making up) splashed across the worlds media, being the centre of so much gossip and blatant abuse.....and then having a new baby as well

I’d want to go home and have a quiet Christmas with my mum too!!

I feel for her too - it clear she fell in love with Harry the person rather than the Prince and struggles with the stuff that the royal family brings. If it wasnt for that their decision seems perfectly normal and sensible - 6 weeks in the US for CHristmas and Thanksgiving with her mum, who wouldnt.

There is openly tension between them and the rest of the RF, appearently Meghan’s mum spent last year’s Christmas alone, they probably want to avoid formalities during their baby’s first Christmas and therefor opting for spending it in the US. I am not a fan of MM but in her shoes I would definitely make the same decision, makes total sense IMO.

I don't think there's openly tension at all, I think people would just love a good old family row to give the media and online shite some weird sort of validation

Interesting reading these comments and seeing everyone is in support of Megan and Harry (I am too). Just goes to show the spin that papers will put on a story if they don’t like the person involved.
Leave them alone. If I were in Megan and Harry’s position I’d do exactly the same and spend Christmas in a country where I’m not going to be splashed all over the front pages, in a photo taken after the family leave church at Sandringham Christmas morning, where no doubt the press will slag Megan off for not wearing appropriate attire or seeming snubbing Kate.
