This is not going to be easy! Grin I'm showing my age and will probably come across as a bit weird but here goes....

I used to listen to Terry Wogan on R2 on my way to work and he played this song almost every day for quite a while... Could have been any time 2000-2007 Grin I've not heard it since but I loved it!

I have NO idea who sang it ... I don't know what it's called and I don't know any lines...

I'm not religious at all but It's got a 'Christian' message .all about God loving us etc. and how wonderful life is..it was quite repetitive at times.

It was by someone well known and I remember thinking at the time that the person had been part of a group at one point. Even as far back as the '70s
They had other songs with a religious message too but not all of them did...

I thought it was Van Morrison, Aaron Neville, James Taylor but I don't know...

That's all I've got!

I don't stand a chance finding it do I?!

Elodie2019 · 08/11/2019 20:50

No! I think it was a single around 200-2007.... I remember thinking at the time that this person hadn't been on the radio for years...

Is it ‘I don’t know much’ by Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt?

Elderflower14 · 08/11/2019 20:54

Wasn't That'll Do by Peter Gabriel was it?

Elodie2019 · 08/11/2019 20:54

It's that kind of song!
I was sure it was Aaron Neville or Van M as they have done a few 'christian' songs but if it is them I can't find the song!!

Elderflower It wasn't as slow or gentle as the Peter G song!
It was quite upbeat!

You know I used to HATE 'From a distance' when I was younger... I now blunt like a little baby when I hear it!

The song I'm thinking has a similar kind of message...

Type in radio2 terry wogan playlist

afternoonspray · 08/11/2019 21:26

Whenever God shines his light? Van Morrison. That's a brilliant song with the chorus: put your feet back on higher ground.
