Only just catching up on all this now! Social media is an echo chamber and evidently atm what is echoing around it is a load of farts.
I have to say I'm massively disappointed in MoD, I actually liked her and FoD. I'm not going to profess to be one of those people who "always thought she seemed like a bit of a bitch". He in particular always seemed really likeable to me. V disappointed, and if the comments on here about her posting crap on Tattle for ages before the negative posts about MoD and FoD are true, then that is worse.
I also feel VERY uncomfortable though with Candice's sex worker apology (which really is a separate, unrelated topic altogether), if she really was actually a pimp. Being a pimp is far worse than anything MoD has done tbh, and frankly if she IS an ex pimp then there's a good chance she IS quite an aggressive person, and as such it wouldn't be racist for MoD to call her as such....
Finally, I think Kelechi Okafor goes way too far in some of her comments too. I am REALLY uncomfortable with the inference for the fact that MoD is somehow complicit in, or responsible for, the fact that five times as many black women die in labour as white women in this country, which is obviously a shocking statistic. I think it's a leap of faith too far to infer that because she has accused a specific black woman of "playing the race card" too often and being aggressive, that a) she is inherently a racist through and through and b) this must extend to her carrying out her professional role in a neglectful manner by, in Kelechi's own words "not believing us [black women] about our own bodies". She has no experience or evidence of MoD's standard of care at work. V dodgy!
