This has made the BBC.

Fucking hell

Fluff piece though. No actual journalism has occurred.

Legomadx2 · 11/11/2019 15:22

Too right @AgathaMystery

Standard for the BBC though

None of the articles I’ve seen have been well written or researched imo.

S0upertrooper · 11/11/2019 15:57

This is like an episode of 'Motherland', not sure if Amanda is 'clever' enough to pull something like this off though and Ann would spill the beans if Amanda roped her into it.

Hashtag SHIT SHOP SHOW

Does anyone know who Danielle Perry is? It's total hearsay but did MoD have a go at her a couple of years ago via her stories?

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 11/11/2019 16:23

@SiousieSoo She mentioned being in St Lucia in a few of her posts, although I'm not sure that they are all still visible now. It was fairly random mentions; nothing of note, but she'd mentioned it on her MOD account too.

I don't believe there's anything to suggest that Tattle HQ outed her or confirmed her IP until after it was already well known. The users have known for a while, they cross-referenced a lot of things, I believe they were making noise about it in February before the Alice account was banned.

BlackMUMba · 11/11/2019 16:30

Thanks @Sausages18 and @Wemake

There's loads of info out there readily available (payable and free resources), so there's no excuse to be 'ignorant' (cop out IMO) in this digital age. That's why I don't believe CH and ignorance can intertwine in this debacle.

@Wemake It sometimes feels like an endless loop keeping others accountable for racist attitudes/behaviours/ideologies especially coming from POC, I think it also needs come from the very same people who think/feel like that.

It's emotionally/mentally laborious.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 11/11/2019 16:31

Google brings up a Radio DJ myolivetree?

Never heard of her.

BlackMUMba · 11/11/2019 16:44

Also, well done to your aunt she sounds like an amazing woman @Wemake

Aside from the blatant racism towards CB, CH's words held power and caused so much pain to all the others mentioned on that site.

You can't drink poison and then blame others for what comes next.

She went into this, of free will and targeted people closest to her just to change some people's negative opinion of her. Not a good enough reason to also say awful things to keep a cover.

I heard they spoke about her kids (that's why I don't post my own on SM) which is awful, the only way I'd have dealt with that type of vitriol is by being ignorant to it. Oh what a mess.

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 17:05

The fact that no one can remember MOD's first brush with racism is quite telling. She had to lay low for a while and got away with it- it's been forgotten about to the extent that posters are asking what Simon must be making of his wife expressing racist views. It's not the first time this has happened.
I think she will get away with it again. People forget.

Samosaurus · 11/11/2019 17:15

@sSagradafamiliar what was her first brush with racism?

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 17:21

I actually can't remember the details (ironically!), I just remember that was when I unfollowed her. It was around the time she was over here defending herself against valid questions being asked about the safeguarding of her kids and not declaring adverts.
I think it was something to do with a book? And trying to appear woke but failing?

Doubleraspberry · 11/11/2019 17:27

I think it was when she reviewed the book Why I’m No Longer Talking To White People About Race rather clunkily.

It’s not true that her Tattle account mentioned St Lucia. Rather, she claimed on there only to be able to go camping in Devon. The mods tracked her ISP to there or Mauritius or wherever her #gifted holiday was and said they had on the forum after they banned her.

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 11/11/2019 17:28

Was it when she’d been reading ‘Why I’m No Longer Talking to White People About Race?’

Sharonthetotallyinsane · 11/11/2019 17:29

Cross post, sorry.

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 17:30

Yes, that rings a bell.

Tooearlyforcrackers · 11/11/2019 18:09

If my memory serves me correctly, MOD posted a picture of the book with a caption that said something like it had changed her perceptions about racism (I am paraphrasing as I can't remember exactly). She was subjected to a barrage of criticism about what her original perceptions were if they had changed, and I think deleted the post. I think raising awareness of the book and getting more people to read it would have had far more of a positive impact than the negative impact of clumsy wording she used to talk about it?

We live in a world where institutional racism is rife, we have a racist government and women are picking apart the words of MOD? The priorities are wrong.

AnchorDownDeepBreath · 11/11/2019 18:14

Ah, I read a news article that said otherwise... I thought they'd have actually seen the posts, as they didn't mention that they hadn't. Ah, journalistic standards.

My apologies. I'll report my post to take down the fake info!

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 18:25

I can have a problem with all those things all at once, Too.

Tooearlyforcrackers · 11/11/2019 18:33

Does saying reading a book about racism and saying it changing your perceptions about racism mean you were racist in the first place? What's the point of a book if it isn't to change your perceptions and make you think? Maybe she should have stuck to telling people about the Mrs Hinch colouring book.

BlackMUMba · 11/11/2019 19:20

Too it's going to take more than 1 book to change racist views/ideology/attitudes.

It's a continual process, never ending and it's putting in the work. People trip up from time to time, that's normal and expected, what MOD effectively said on that site was calculated. She knew exactly what she was saying and how it would harm others.

This society (most if not all of western society) is built on racism, colonisation and white supremacy to the very core of medicine, teaching, police etc

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 19:22

There was more to it than that but it's not my job to keep track of Clemmie Hooper's misdemeanours, I just unfollow and don't give clicks/buy into adverts.

Sagradafamiliar · 11/11/2019 19:23

Cross post! That was to previous P.
