I got thinking about Gypsy Creams earlier, they were a great biscuit and I fancy one with a cup of tea.
Currently liking a custard cream or a fruit shortcake, but give me some inspiration! What are you partial to?

Home bargains sell lemon puffs as well as loads of other biscuits you’d think were discontinued years ago. Like those ones with two piped lined of mallow covered in dedicated coconut and a line of jam down the middle.

I remember Romany Creams, a chocolate fudge sandwich biscuit. Haven’t seen those for years.

Greenglassteacup · 24/10/2019 17:24

Lines of mallow, dedicated coconut

Greenglassteacup · 24/10/2019 17:25

DESSICATED. Fucking autocorrect

@Greenglassteacup - those mallow biscuits with the dedicated/desecrated/desiccated coconut are called Mikado, my favourite when visiting Ireland to see GP’s when I was little.
Thanks for the tip about Home Bargains selling lemon puff biscuits, not local to said shop but will look for one in next town.

TheFesteredStiff · 24/10/2019 21:25

I love custard creams as well.

The biscuits I most miss are the coffee versions of custard creams.

jelly79 · 24/10/2019 22:39

Love caramel digestives

Been looking for lemon puffs for ages - anyone seen them?

Seriously79 · 24/10/2019 22:43

Some may call this boring, but I prefer to think of it as traditional - I love a digestive, but it has to be mcvities. Dunked into hot sweet tea - that's my little piece of heaven 🤗

Doobigetta · 24/10/2019 22:44

Co-op white chocolate and blueberry muffin cookies.

hearthwitch · 24/10/2019 22:48

Kimberley, mikado and coconut creams. Available in northern Ireland but not Scotland 😢

Thehagonthehill · 24/10/2019 23:02

Dam this diet.

QuestionableMouse · 24/10/2019 23:07

@FadedRed

Lemon puffs. You can still get them in Morrisons. groceries.morrisons.com/webshop/product/Bolands-Lemon-Puff-Biscuits/112459011

I used to love Cafe Noir biscuits but they seem to have vanished. And proper Clubs with a nice chunk of filling.

TuttiFrutti123 · 24/10/2019 23:13

Ooh. I forgot about shortbread.

I've been trying to avoid the biscuit aisle these days. Too much temptation.

MissCharleyP · 24/10/2019 23:27

I miss strawberry creams and I think Fox’s used to do a strawberry cheesecake cream (can’t remember if that was the exact name), they were heaven!

I like Viennese sandwiches now but have a tendency to eat them all.

confusednorthner · 24/10/2019 23:30

Possibly not actually a biscuit but I've just discovered M&S cranberry and clementine Jaffa cakes and they are amazing!

MsMustDoBetter · 24/10/2019 23:33

Cafe noir. They had hard coffee icing on top and they were divine.

TheFesteredStiff · 25/10/2019 01:11

@MsMustDoBetter You can still get Cafe Noir. Amazon does them and you could, last time I looked, get them in Sainsbury's.

They have, however, shrunk them.

What is it with the war on coffee flavoured biscuits?

TheFesteredStiff · 25/10/2019 01:28

@MsMustDoBetter and @QuestionableMouse

Sainsbury's have taken them off the online range but I think I've seen Cafe Noir in some larger stores. Failing that...

Stravapalava · 25/10/2019 09:26

@HeatedDryer I've seen the rainbow cookies in loads of places - co op, home bargains, b&m etc.

Acciocats · 25/10/2019 09:51

What’s this Abbey crunch biscuit of which so many of you have fond memories? I’m quite old (remember Lincoln biscuits, lemon puffs etc) but can’t recall abbey crunch.

I’m very partial to co op cookies - the oaty ones are lovely with a cuppa.

Anyone remember United bars? They were tasty.

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/10/2019 09:57

Abbey Crunch was like a small hobnob but much much better.

SweetPetrichor · 25/10/2019 10:34

My favourites were those fruit shortbread ones, fig biscuits and jammy dodgers.
I have coeliac disease so despite them still being around, they are no longer on the menu!

sueelleker · 25/10/2019 10:36

A few weeks ago I suddenly fancied a Fox's Crinkle Crunch biscuit, only to find they seem to have discontinued them. You can get the Crinkle Crunch Creams, but not the plain ones.
