I got thinking about Gypsy Creams earlier, they were a great biscuit and I fancy one with a cup of tea.
Currently liking a custard cream or a fruit shortcake, but give me some inspiration! What are you partial to?

Are swedish people as fat as we are? haha no, but a) they eat better breakfasts b) they have cooked lunches at preschool and school c) they move more generally (as more and more people drive their kids to school, obesity goes up) and d) they focus on movement/exercise as an indicator of health, not weight (in the UK it's all "are you a healthy weight" but you can be unhealthy as hell if you're not moving your body, nvm your weight). Biscuits are rubbish though, 65 varities of those ones with jam in the middle, they're not that nice! Don't ask for more of them!

FadedRed · 22/10/2019 11:41

LimeTreeGrove thanks, those red puffy things are similar but not the same iykwim. The biscuits were flaky but more substantial and the lemon cream filling was sweet but quite tart.
It’s perhaps a good thing they are unavailable as I could eat a pack to myself over a couple of days, despite not being one for sweet stuff usually.

Legomadx2 · 22/10/2019 12:00

@LimeTreeGrove whoever thought putting some biscuits in a GLASS was the best way to show them off?

and LOL at are the Swedes as fat as we are !!!

Agree re: activity being a better indicator of health. Apart from the past fortnight when I've had a horrendous virus, I am usually a smug runner/cyclist which means I can stuff my face with impunity.

I remember what biscuits I miss! Echo and echo mint, they were lovely. Sad

Mustbetimeforachange · 24/10/2019 10:21

Mention of the ones with coffee icing (definitely for grown ups!) And the flaky lemon ones has instantly transported me back to cups of tea with my mum! M&S (I think) used to do a yummy biscuit with little chunks of almond in.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 24/10/2019 10:26

I miss Royal Tea.A chocolate rich tea.I cant find them anywhere!

Stravapalava · 24/10/2019 12:02

My favourites in the world are custard creams. I can see you like a custard cream too OP, have you tried the rhubarb & custard creams from Tesco? They're dreamy.

I also love hob nobs and boring old digestives. Also shortbread.

caperplips · 24/10/2019 12:05

fadedred are you thinking of Lemon Puffs?
You can still get them, but the recipe for the pastry has changed.
They used to be sticky and slightly singed in areas and very flaky. They are blander now. I used to LOVE them!

Stravapalava · 24/10/2019 12:09

@HeatedDryer is it a Rainbow Cookie?

I'm more of a cake person but Aldi dark choc digestives are nice. I think it was Nairn's used to do properly crumbly oaties - they were good.

EBearhug · 24/10/2019 13:01

Nairn's still do oatcakes.

TheBitchOfTheVicar · 24/10/2019 13:43

All-butter thins

HeatedDryer · 24/10/2019 15:47

@Stravapalava yes!! You are a biscuit genius Grin Can you still get them?

CigarsofthePharoahs · 24/10/2019 15:53

Fox's golden crunch creams. Mmmm.
Lidl do choco thins that I can't buy as I just eat them all.
However, a nice plain McVitties digestive is the best thing with a cuppa.

xsquared · 24/10/2019 15:54

Lemon puffs. Can't get them anywhere now. ☹️

MrsAgassi · 24/10/2019 15:59

Page 3 and nobody has mentioned Happy Faces!

I love them and miss them. You get a couple of them in the Family Circle selection boxes but can’t buy a packet of them anymore.

Disfordarkchocolate · 24/10/2019 16:02

I miss Abbey Crunch, perfect biscuit.

I have too many favourites Blush

BearSoFair · 24/10/2019 16:08

Bourbons, nothing is better! Also partial to a ginger snap.

Artesia · 24/10/2019 16:12

Crawfords’ Iced Shorties- round with a fluted edge and iced with bands of brown, yellow and pink icing. They used to come in Rover selection tins, and I loved them. A posh party ring really!

IDontDrinkTea · 24/10/2019 16:13

I really really miss fox’s echo biscuits. They were amazing

Artesia · 24/10/2019 16:14
