I got thinking about Gypsy Creams earlier, they were a great biscuit and I fancy one with a cup of tea.
Currently liking a custard cream or a fruit shortcake, but give me some inspiration! What are you partial to?

If you go to the museum in Reading, they've got a whole gallery on Huntley and Palmers, with shelves and shelves of biscuit tins and the names of loads of forgotten biscuits.

I quite like a Viscount - the chocolate covered biscuit with a layer of mint.

Is it worth getting to replicate the Abbey crunch geoffsbakingblog.blogspot.com/2015/02/abbey-crunch-biscuits.html?m=1

I don't eat biscuits often but do have fond memories of mint yoyos. Marks vienesse sandwich biscuits are fantastic dipped in hot tea 🤤

milk chocolate rich teas, the lesser known star of the biscuit world...

Wincarnis · 22/10/2019 06:26

Cadbury’s Coasters

Is it me, or are biscuits not as good as they used to be?

catnidge · 22/10/2019 06:31

My favourite is a chocolate hob nob, but I'm now fancying a dark chocolate digestive having read the thread.
I miss the sports biscuits, like party rings in taste but rectangular with a different sports scene on the back.

Also what were the iced mildy coffee biscuits called? They always seemed like and adult only biscuit.

HeatedDryer · 22/10/2019 06:34

I have a memory of a biscuit that had coloured chewy bits in, no idea what it was called but I would love to try it again!

Fudgecakes · 22/10/2019 06:44

Now....any brand of ham and cream ring - the Fox's Viennese finger version is particularly yum!
Reto - I think they were called Duchy? A plain quite crumbly buttery biscuit...i think each one had a scroll on it with the name of a county on. Got immense child like excitement if I got one with my home county's name on! Does anyone else remember these?

Fudgecakes · 22/10/2019 06:45

Ham and cream??? ConfusedGrin.. yuk!! I'd much prefer a jam and cream!!!

Pinkarsedfly · 22/10/2019 06:52

The humble bourbon will always be the King of Biscuits for me.

If I’m feeling posh, Cadbury’s Roundies are droolsome.

If I’m on holiday in France, chocolate Hit biscuits. I never buy them here, it’s not the same.

Proper Highland shortbread petticoat tails at Christmas.

And Cadbury’s chocolate fingers. A whole box, with a pot of tea, is the only remedy for PMT or a broken heart.

missmeg3leg · 22/10/2019 06:57

Partial to a malted milk here, good dunkability & affectionately called “cow biscuits” when I was little!..... & “Nice” biscuits 😀

queenofmycastlex · 22/10/2019 07:12

My favourites as a child were Butter Osbornes. In my mid 50s now and I still miss them.

Legomadx2 · 22/10/2019 07:35

Chocolate florentines, by Fudge's, or M&S.

Absolutely delicious but I can't buy them as I'll eat the whole pack.

Also Jammy Dodgers and choc Hobnobs.

Agree with the PP who said biscuits aren't as good as they used to be - Trios used to be INSANELY good but now taste of nothing.

BlouseAndSkirt · 22/10/2019 08:02

I wish Sainsbury’s would bring back the Ginger Crinkle ! A good every day biscuit with texture, bits if real ginger, nice and crumbly, unlike ginger nuts which seem to be held together with wood glue.

FadedRed · 22/10/2019 10:30

Does anyone remember those lemon cream biscuits that had a ‘flaky pastry’ type biscuit? Oblong shape, with little brown spots of melted sugar on them. My absolute favourite- haven’t seen them for years.

banivani · 22/10/2019 10:41

Treasure your biscuits. In Sweden we have shit biscuits - treasure your variety!

LimeTreeGrove · 22/10/2019 11:07

Are swedish people as fat as we are? Grin

LimeTreeGrove · 22/10/2019 11:09

FadedRed Marks did something like that in different flavours fairly recently. Red currant might have been one of the flavours.

Who remembers Grannies Cookies? And Lincoln? Highland Shorties? Morning Coffee?
Can you still get Lemon Puffs? I don’t buy biscuits any more so don’t look at them in case I am tempted.
