What is the saltiest, buttery-ist butter I can buy?

I love Anchor but it's a bit pricey so mostly get Sainsbury's or Country Life, whichever is on sale.

At a friend's house I had some butter straight from heaven in a white/translucent paper wrap but she couldn't remember where she got it from.

Président perhaps? Or perhaps a farm shop one?

Or make your own with a ton of maldon in it.

Yum

Dark blue packet...

Morrisons Brittany butter with sea salt. It's on offer right now as well. Absolutely delish.

This stuff is simply divine. I bulk buy it anywhere I see it. It’s in Aldi sometimes,

Asda do a lovely Cornish butter with sea salt crystals. It's a roll rather than a block, and wrapped in a translucent paper. Lovely, with homemade crusty bread and tomato soup.
(Also do a Somerset butter which is delicious)

Kerigold 🤤🤤

Teachermaths · 14/10/2019 22:12

The posh one with salt crystals NOM!

Alabasterangel6 · 14/10/2019 22:13

You need Welsh butter.

The salt % is higher than English and it has a lovely strong taste too. Not like that insipid lurpak stuff.

Anyway, I’m welsh but don’t live in Wales and can regularly get it in my local Aldi and Tesco. And if you venture near wales you need to get the proper welsh butter with the draig coch (red dragon) on. It’s called Sirgar I think?

catwithflowers · 14/10/2019 22:13

Aldi do a really nice butter with salt crystals. It’s reasonably priced too.

Alabasterangel6 · 14/10/2019 22:15

This is it! Although proper welsh butter is round. And so are proper butter dishes!

How original!

pinkcardi · 14/10/2019 22:17

@Fuma that Morrison's one is such amazing butter. Beats all the more expensive ones in our house.

Delicious. Salty. Rich. Buttery. Naughty. Heavenly butter.

So naughty that we save it for the weekend and don't let the kids have any.

nmc99 · 14/10/2019 22:18

Utterly shameless placemark

LetsPlayDarts · 14/10/2019 22:18

Another vote for Morrisons Brittany butter. There are salt crystals in there and it's just divine.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/10/2019 22:19

Sea salt butter sounds perfect for crumpets

Auldspinster · 14/10/2019 22:20

Graham's butter is lovely and salty.

IceCreamConewithaflake · 14/10/2019 22:21

Tesco own brand spreadable, salted butter (I have been known to have a little teaspoon of it on its own)

Mitebiteatnite · 14/10/2019 22:23

The best butter I ever had was in a dairy pack thingy from Abel and Cole. It was organic, hand rolled heaven in a packet. The full fat milk was dreamy too, yoghurt was bog standard though.

But failing that, the waitrose Normandy butter with sea salt. Its our go-to special occasion butter. Best served half an inch thick, so you can see teeth marks when you bite it, on a crusty baguette.

frugalkitty · 14/10/2019 22:24

Anything with sea salt crystals (Lidl used to do one but I can't find it anymore).

Pricey, but worth it. You can thank me later.
