A question about 'The It Crowd'. Any fans in?

I think throughout all the series there's evidence that Roy is attracted to Jen and vice versa, but they never quite get it together. DH isn't so sure. Which one of us is right?

I didn't pick up on any attraction. What did you notice between them? Love that show.

Maybe a slight attraction but they're each the only real option for flirting in the workday,unless they venture upstairs anyway.

I didn't pick that up. I love the IT crowd and often re-watch it.

Like in the episode where Jen goes for that awful date and Roy ends up walking her to the taxi; and in the episode where Jen has the dodgy builder in, Roy seems quite jealous when he realises she has a man in the place. Most notably in the episode where Jen becomes Renholm's PA, Roy ends up really missing her.

Roy fancied Jen, but it wasn’t reciprocated. He was too emotionally stunted to approach it in a sensible manner though.

Yes! I’ve always felt there was something between them. I wished they pulled on that thread!

I hate most modern comedy but both my husband and I enjoyed the It crowd.

He’s American albeit lived a long while in the Uk but the humour appeals to both of us.

I don’t think there was any attraction between Roy and Jen and I don’t think a romance between them would have worked within the show.

Oh and of course the final episode in series 1 where they end up getting drunk together and seem attracted to each other.

I’d have said there’s a one way attraction Roy to Jen. Would never have said Jen is at all interested in Roy romantically

I don't really think so. They would both be prepared to have a fling with each other I think -- Roy just because she's a woman and he's desperate; Jen because it would temporarily blot out a sense of failure (but then instantly make her sense of failure ten times worse).

But both of them would far rather have someone else. Jen is too high maintenance for Roy. Too many hang-ups that he knows he is not emotionally intelligent enough to be able to mollify.

Does anyone remember Beast? Brilliant comedy about a vet surgery with Alexander Armstrong and Doon Mackichan? That was a case of two colleagues not quite realising that they should OBVIOUSLY get together, even though the audience could see that they definitely wanted to.

No I never thought that. I think they like each other a lot but no attraction.

I don't think Roy even really fancies Jen, it's more 'oooh a woman present'.

Him and Moss seem to prefer it when she isn't around, and very much see her as a slightly shit boss but who keeps them protected from the rest of the company do they tolerate her.

Oh god I love IT Crowd. That one where Roy explains something about computers to Jen and the screen goes all fuzzy. Gold.

I love it too. The fire at SeaWorld one, the one when Moss lies about Jen dying... there's too many brill moments/ episodes. Never got a Roy /Jen thing though

I don't think they liked each other it was just a case of they are stuck with each other. I love the dinner party episode.

Roy fancies any presentable woman (especially ones out of his league) but Jen is too scary for him.

So many brilliant episodes.

The Work Outing and the Dinner Party I think are my top two.

Or the one where Moss pumps Roy's mobile phone vibrate setting and it goes off at Renholms funeral......OMG that's a funny scene.
