Going on holiday tomorrow and my stomach has been agony for two days now. Dh has no idea what I’m on about but I always get it.

It makes me sad ☹️ 😂

Yea that's me! I need to seek help for mine though as the anxiety of it all ends up ruining our holidays because I am ill the whole time usually, and perk up once home ConfusedSad

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 30/07/2019 21:30

What causes it? Confused

I'm the same. It's pure anxiety. I get nervous about being ill while travelling, which makes me ill.... fucking ridiculous

We don’t leave until a Sunday and already have twitchy stomach. My sympathies, op

chantico · 30/07/2019 22:02

Possible there's a bug goes no round - I have no holiday in the offing, but twitchy system

Moongirl10 · 30/07/2019 22:06

I get the same thing. I’m not nervous going on holiday, I think it’s more the stress of trying to get everything done before I leave.

BradTomby · 30/07/2019 22:06

I get it both ends Sad

Benjispruce · 30/07/2019 22:08

Anxiety. DD gets it at airports.

EugenesAxe · 30/07/2019 22:08

I’m a teensy bit scared of flying, so I tend to never be excited about holidays until I’m fully entrenched in them.

Probably not quite the same as what you meant but yes, for most women it’s probably the case that they feel the family holiday is ‘their bag’, and until they know everything is going to be OK, it’s perfectly understandable that there could be some anxiety!

MrsMoastyToasty · 30/07/2019 22:10

I get insomnia before a holiday. It's all down to anxiety.

notacooldad · 30/07/2019 22:11

No I have never had this.
The only thing I used to get was worrying whether I'd shut every window and things like that but I don't even bother about that anymore.

PrincessMargaret · 30/07/2019 22:12

I'm dreadful. Can't eat, get upset stomach etc. You have my sympathies.

maddiemookins16mum · 30/07/2019 22:14

Mine stops as soon as I’ve got rid of the luggage and I’m in the departure lounge. I also barely sleep the night before.

numberonecook · 30/07/2019 22:17

It’s anxiety. I don’t get it before holidays but I do before long car journeys, then I worry there’s no loo, which makes it worse :(

Foslady · 30/07/2019 22:17

Yep - fly next week, already stressed to hell

Tatapie · 30/07/2019 22:20

Me too, my stomach is in knots , don't sleep, I know it's anxiety but still can't make it stop! I relax when on we've taken off and usually crash out. Not as bad on the way back. I think short breaks aren't worth it any more unless I can get this under control. Has anyone any tips?

Notonaschoolnight · 30/07/2019 22:22

I get this then I end up getting there drinking some alcohol eating unhealthy food and end up feeling bloated and Ill for days

Runkle · 30/07/2019 22:28

Yep same here, you have my sympathy. Get it for pretty much anything - days out, important meetings, going somewhere new, holidays. It's a nightmare. Also get overwhelming feeling that I'm going to be sick which is not nice before going on car/train/plane Blush Wish I could control it. I try propranolol, diarrhea tablets, ginger biscuits, eating/not eating, aromatherapy oils, mindfullness.. Nothing works.

Lisette1940 · 30/07/2019 22:32

Yep, I get it too. Nervy before flying tomorrow. Doing relaxation exercises and breathing exercises which are working.

I'm a total homebody.

RaininSummer · 30/07/2019 22:36

Yep. Before travelling I always have notion that I won't make it home again. That is anxiety inducing so then I don't sleep.

beckywiththegoodhair27 · 30/07/2019 22:36

Yep same here. Nerves about going somewhere new? Travelling nerves? And then when I get there (if it's abroad) the water and food usually gives me the shits too. Epic

keepingbees · 30/07/2019 22:37

Yep I'm a homebody too. I have a bowel disorder so I'm ill regularly anyway, so anything planned makes me worry in case I have a flare up or bad stomach, then the anxiety makes it worse and it ends up a vicious circle. Try Imodium or similar to settle your stomach down and at least get you through that side of things on long journeys. I wish I could help with the anxiety Sad

carlywurly · 30/07/2019 22:37

I sympathise. I always get this and we travel loads so people think I'm mad if I tell them. I'm usually ok once we've checked in. Sometimes it lasts until we check into our room on hols. I've even felt homesick in the Maldives fgs Blush

24 hours in I'm usually fine. It usually takes a shower, a poo and a sleep to feel settled Grin

Iwantacookie · 30/07/2019 22:40

I get this too but I get myself so worked up I normally end up in tears on the first night.
I'm normally fine after a nights sleep but I get it again the day before I go home. Which disappear as soon as I get the pets back home.

boymum9 · 30/07/2019 22:41

I get same thing, sometimes both ends...!! Sheer anxiety for me, hate flying, the organisation, change of routine etc all bother me.
