What names were on your shortlist but didn’t make the cut?

I’m pg now and have a shortlist of names I love. Feel a bit sad only to pick one!

Any names that got left behind that you still love?

I always daydreamed I’d use lots of lovely, literary names. If I’d had more sons I’d have used Laurie (Little Women,) or Gilbert (Anne of Green Gables.) dh was less keen.

Morwenna, Cerys, Sasha & Meredith are the names I loved and didn't get to use. DH didn't like Morwenna & Meredith & we have no Welsh connection so he thought Cerys would be ridiculous. We would have used Sasha but DC2 was a boy and we had only come across it as a girls' name.

The names I loved but didn't use were
Adam (doesn't sound right with surname)
Alistair (name of family member)
William (DH veto)
Summer (DH veto)
Tess (both liked this but not as much as the one we actually chose)
Clara (as for Tess)

I have had two boys and names that got left behind are Taylor, Vincent and Aaron.

My girl names I never got to use were Vada, Abigail and Melody.

Alexander and Peter are my favourite boys names but they had negative connotations for DH.
