I’m pg now and have a shortlist of names I love. Feel a bit sad only to pick one!

Any names that got left behind that you still love?

Ds is named after dh dad so didn't choose a name so Daniel. A girl would have been Katherine or Elizabeth.

ImogenTubbs · 01/08/2019 21:42

DH liked Jemima, which I'm quite glad we avoided
My favorite was Sabine (pronounced Sabina but spelled the German way)

Constance1234 · 01/08/2019 21:44

Beatrix (we had a boy)

BrokenWing · 01/08/2019 21:58

That said, when I first fell pregnant with DD I was certain she would be Heidi but DP vetoed. She’s not a Heidi.

AmericanLemonade · 01/08/2019 22:05

Lola. I love and prefer DDs name (Imogen) but there’s something so pretty about Lola.

Stravapalava · 01/08/2019 22:10

Anastasia
Saskia
Arabella
Annabelle

Milo
Reuben
Sebastian
Toby

Redcrayons · 01/08/2019 22:13

All my girls names because I have boys.

I love Jasper but we don't really move in 'Jasper' circles.

Going to have Cameron but a Cameron won Big Brother they year I was PG and I didn't want people to think that's where I got it from.

WeCameToDance · 01/08/2019 22:13

Isobel - dh vetoed for being too popular. I still think it's beautiful.
Avery - was very nearly dd's name but ds loved lego Jurassic World and the bit with they aviary at the beginning put me off.
Elsie - now her middle name. It's the name of my favourite album but I just couldn't convince dh to use it as a first name.

I have loads for boys! Most impratical!
Atlas, Harbor, Atticus, Ezekiel - dh vetoed immediately.
Elijah - dh knew somebody who had not long had a baby called this.
Tom - too popular.

C0untDucku1a · 01/08/2019 22:16

Lucian - I was unsure
Sidney - dh refused

kittyhello · 01/08/2019 22:18

Ds - all got vetoed by dh Hmm
Sebastian
Felix
Barnaby nn Barney
Eduardo nn Woody
Ferdinand nn Ferdy
Noah

Dd
Saskia
Tess
Allegra
Alice

Actually I'm glad for dc's sake we didn't go for any of these.

Muddlingalongalone · 01/08/2019 22:28

The ones I remember:
Lucinda & Juliet - (exh didn't like)
Abigail & Georgia (family names)
Leah & Caitlin (dm said she'd pronounce them differently)

My favourite boys names are Ethan, Seth & Ryan but 2 girls so never made a list

JMAngel1 · 01/08/2019 22:30

I loved Lydia for my DD but DH said it sounded like lid of your dustbin! Even now when I hear the name Lydia I feel cross that I didn't insist on it - most annoyingly my DD would suit the name Lydia more than her chosen name which in hindsight is a little too common.
For a boy Joshua or Rory.

FiddleFigs · 02/08/2019 00:00

Enid
Alice
Penelope

We had both decided on DD’s name already, but I just needed back-ups in case her name didn’t suit her.

ElizaPancakes · 02/08/2019 00:05

Thomas and Ben.

minipie · 02/08/2019 00:07

Madeleine
Marianne

Dominic
Leo

TreacherousPissFlap · 02/08/2019 02:56

Alastair
Teddy
Alexander

Never had a girl but I had a name I absolutely loved so ended up using on my dog when it transpired we couldn't have any more DC.

As it turns out it really suits her, even though she's an utter hag Grin

TreacherousPissFlap · 02/08/2019 02:57

Ooh, I also loved Rory but for some reason (I don't have a speech problem) I am totally incapable of pronouncing it correctly Grin
