What names were on your shortlist but didn’t make the cut?

I’m pg now and have a shortlist of names I love. Feel a bit sad only to pick one!

Any names that got left behind that you still love?

April. Although I prefer DD's name I think she looks more like an April than the name she actually is 😐

I wanted to call DS1 Struan but DH vetoed

You should move to Eigg and then try for another boy. When we visited, we saw a list of all of the residents and about half of the males there seemed to be called that, so you'd have a good pressure group amount of moral support

I love Isaac/Izaak but DH hated it. I love love love Sophia but we had boys.

Has anybody else had the dilemma where you really love two or more names for one or other sex, such that you'd want to use them all as first names for your 2 or 3 sons/daughters - but, obviously not knowing at that stage if you'll ever have another child of the same sex (or indeed at all), you have to decide whether to use them all up by giving all of the names to your first child (as first and middle names) and risk subsequently having another of the same sex whom you then have to name after the winner of Love Island, or otherwise risk never getting to use one or more of your favourite names?
