I'm new to shopping at Aldi, please tell me your favourite items to add to my shopping list! I've already discovered the gin! 😊

Their fruit and fibre is the best supermarket one out there.

Wildorchidz · 24/07/2019 07:10

Extra virgin olive oil
Steaks
Dish washer tablets

BiBiBirdie · 24/07/2019 07:16

Their frozen mojitos are lovely.
I also like their flatbed pizza with cherry tomatoes and spinach (and I'm not a veggie, I bought it because we were having a party and had vegetarians coming, tried a slice and wow).
DH likes their bake yourself sausage rolls and steak slices and says they are better than Gregg's.
I'm quite partial to their version of Mini Rolls too, they are nice if you freeze them and eat them frozen.

blackcat86 · 24/07/2019 07:24

Chocolate coated rice bars are amazing (like a cereal bar type thing). They also do 5% fat meatballs which are lovely.

greatvengeanceandfuriousanger · 24/07/2019 07:28

Coconut ice lollies

Oh prefers their mini Bounty bars and mint aero over the brand versions.

Cherry yoghurt in glass pots.

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 24/07/2019 07:28

Yy to their flatbread pizza and dishwasher tabs.

If youre going to buy chocolate cereals their choco hoops are some of the lowest in sugar on the market

VolcanionSteamArtillery · 24/07/2019 07:29

Oh yes to their coconut lollies. Totally gorgeous

MedalMedalMedal · 24/07/2019 07:35

Bibi Frozen mini roll..? Genius! 👌 I’m trying that.

I like their moisturisers. Lacura day cream spf 30 is excellent.

Rarfy · 24/07/2019 07:41

Their party pack of toilet rolls, 24 I think. They're great.

Flowers are decent too.

Have never had a bad experience with any of their pizzas.

Curry sauces with the seasoning in the top are nice.

Have enjoyed their meals in minutes they do a few different types in the meat fridges.

In fact the only things u have regretted buying are the knock off monster munch.

Sforsh49 · 24/07/2019 07:51

Garlic and Cheese flatbread. Just the cheap one it's 89 or 99p. The "extra special" range pizzas are awesome! Their own Pringles are WAY better than pringles!

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/07/2019 07:51

Washing powder - doesn't leave a nasty fragrance on your clothes like the big brands, cheap and does the job.

Basics - it's great for flour, sugar, other baking ingredients. Coffee (ground) is good. Cheeses also good.

Processed food - mostly avoid. Cereals, biscuits, table sauces, frozen pizza, the aforementioned curry sauces, all have disappointed.

Fruit and veg - pick very carefully. Stuff with a longer life (apples, carrots etc) are usually fine. Soft fruits always seem to go off within hours.

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/07/2019 07:52

Oh and don't buy the cheap toilet roll, it's awful. The more premium one is ok though.

Poetryinaction · 24/07/2019 07:54

Risotto in a packet. You just add water and stir and it really is good if you add plenty of parmesan.

Greenteandchives · 24/07/2019 07:54

All yogurt.
Sweet potato burgers
Beetroot burgers
5% fat meatballs.
Wine
Goats cheese pearls.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 24/07/2019 07:55

Moser Roth (sp?) chocolate bars.
I think you get 5 mini bars in a pack.
We usually get the 85% dark chocolate ones.
Sea salt ones are delicious too!

chicken2015 · 24/07/2019 07:56

I had their milk buttons yesterday and they were really creamy much nicer than cadburys button! Didnt think id say that!

OtraCosaMariposa · 24/07/2019 07:57

We like :

Moser Roth chocolate, the one in the dark blue cardboard wrapping
Stir in pasta sauce in the little glass jar - the tomato and mascarpone one
The brown farmhouse bread in the white waxed paper wrapper

Lots of their stuff is good, the best strategy to be open minded and have a go, some stuff you'll like, some you won't.

bakingbabyv · 24/07/2019 07:57

Sourdough pizzas 🤤

ExpletiveDelighted · 24/07/2019 07:58

Ooh yes, the mini goats cheese balls are lovely.

PurplePuffinPicker · 24/07/2019 08:01

A frozen pizza which I think is classed as spinach and ricotta but also has mushrooms on. Its delicious!

All the chocolate I've tried from there is lovely. Dairyfine is the cheapo range. Choceur is mid range and Moser Roth is their posh stuff. All nice, but Dairyfine is probably my least favourite of them.

Their own brand crisps are not nice, nor are their squash or fruit shoots.

Rarfy · 24/07/2019 08:02

I have recently taken a liking to their version of peanut m&ms and my dm would live on their chocolate buttons if it was sustainable haha.

Newcatmum · 24/07/2019 08:10

Choceur milk chocolate and hazelnut
Groovy biscuits
Orange Belgian chocolate wave things
Chicken tempura mini fillets
Snackrite crisps and pringles (the kettle chip style crisps are flavourless though)
I use the toiletries and cleaning products
Nappies and wipes
My mum loves their eggs, everytime we go together she goes on about how amazing they are Confused. Eggs are just eggs to me.
I do all my shopping in Aldi so I like all their products the only thing I can think of off the top of my head that I don't like is the washing powder. I found it left white marks on all my clothes.

firsttimemumma123 · 24/07/2019 08:13

Choceur chocolate, so creamy!
Their versions of chocolate bars taste exactly the same as the originals; penguins, rockys, mars bars, twix etc
Chocolate chip cookie biscuits are better than Maryland.
Agree with PP re premium pizzas, delish.
Baking items flour sugar etc all great
DH loves the bread rolls, not the pack of 6 but a 4 pack in a clear ish packaging, they are SO soft.
Croissants!
Benefit cereal bars
Meatballs, chicken breasts.
Chocolate& salted caramel fondants in the pudding fridge
Their version of magnum ice creams, think they’re called Giannis.
Basically everything labelled ‘specially selected’ is better than most supermarkets!

firsttimemumma123 · 24/07/2019 08:15

Oh and obviously nappies, how could I forget after we get through so many!

Plantpot1983 · 24/07/2019 08:16

Their extra special range cheeses ( in the black packaging) especially the Manchego
The moser Roche chocolate
Pizzas
Brown sliced bloomer
Own brand pimms
