I've been waiting for this. LOADS of thunder & lightening but no rain. Anyone else?

Here! South East. Pouring rain, lots of thunder & lightning. Fine during the day, but I'm a bit of a sap about it at night so hoping it settles down, esp as I have an early start tomorrow!

Kids sound asleep. Was actually woken when a gust of wind slammed their bedroom door shut.

At least my allotment is happy!

I think the flashes are fewer now, actually.

WatcherintheRye · 24/07/2019 01:26

We've had continuous thunder and lightning for about an hour and a half with some torrential rain. Magnificent light show and sound effects!

Sharpkat · 24/07/2019 01:26

Central London. Lots of thunder. Seen one lightening strike but no rain. I want it to get cooler.

Nothing here, also south east.
We had a huge one a few nights back.

LeekMunchingSheepShagger · 24/07/2019 01:27

Yes! Pouring with rain too (West mids)

CrispbuttyNo1 · 24/07/2019 01:29

West Devon. Finished now.

Wahoo! We have a stonking thunderstorm, anyone else?
crosspelican · 24/07/2019 01:31

Gone now except for the odd flash.

crosspelican · 24/07/2019 01:31

Great photo @CrispbuttyNo1 !

DontCallMeShitley · 24/07/2019 01:37

Seems as if London had the storm without rain, here too.

Curlygirly · 24/07/2019 01:39

Yes. Storm was directly overhead. Passed along now. Between that and dh snoring I'm now wide awake.

Wrongdissection · 24/07/2019 01:40

Yep. Right overhead in Birmingham. It’s anazing!

ComtesseDeSpair · 24/07/2019 01:42

South East London - lots of lightning, no thunder, a spattering of light rain about 30 minutes ago then it stopped and the clouds cleared. Weather is amazing in how local it can be!

crosspelican · 24/07/2019 01:44

I don't mind the wobbly sheet of metal thunder but we had one a few minutes ago but that was a single ear-splitting BANG like a bomb going off and I don't like that at all.

Kahlua4me · 24/07/2019 01:53

We’ve got it too, south east. It was overhead for a long while and very loud. Very impressive!

Now there is a lot of rain but still thunder and lightning occasionally. Amazingly all my family are asleep, even dh...

AlbusSeverusMalfoy · 24/07/2019 01:53

Im in the Royal County. Constant thunder and lightning for the last hour, plus lots of rain.

Kahlua4me · 24/07/2019 01:54

crosspelican I don’t like the really loud bangs either, although do love thunderstorms.

Pieceofpurplesky · 24/07/2019 01:54

North West and it's fabulous. And cooler

Tink1990 · 24/07/2019 01:56

By far the worst (best!) Thunderstorm ive seen/heard! The amount pf lightening was unbelievable!

RogueV · 24/07/2019 01:57

Yes just started here! I love it

DioneTheDiabolist · 24/07/2019 01:57

Nothing here.Sad I am well jel. I love a good lightening show.âš¡

MsAwesomeDragon · 24/07/2019 01:59

We've had a bit of thunder up here in Cumbria. Not as much as down South, but a couple of rumbles that were loud enough to wake me up and set all the neighborhood dogs barking. Torrential rain for about 10 mins, now back to nothing again.

DontCallMeShitley · 24/07/2019 01:59

Rumbling again, it is on the way back...

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/07/2019 01:59

Got one now in Liverpool.
No rain though. Aren't dry thunderstorms supposed to be more dangerous.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/07/2019 02:02

I love a good thunderstorm.

I agree, but its only okay when you're watching it through your window while snuggled up in bed.
I wouldn't like to be walking around in it
