I've been waiting for this. LOADS of thunder & lightening but no rain. Anyone else?

Overhead here in Suffolk, loads of lighting and the occasional bit of thunder but no rain so far, sons velux window is open so hoping rain stays away! As for me hiding under covers as I am not much better than when I was a child and HATE storms! 🤣

Going still in the west, not sure when it started though.

The only thunder here is DP snoring after coming home late and pissed.

I didn't manage to get dd2 to sleep before the second storm rolled in. I like storms. I also like that tomorrow is my part time day as I might come home and have a nap!

3 am (Yorkshire). The first thunderclap woke me (after about half an hour’s sleep) & I got up to watch. Torrential rain & impressive lightning overhead.

Yep huge storm here. It woke 2 year old DS who also has a temperature of 40.2 and so now can’t get back to sleep.

Near Manchester Airport. Big electrical storm, spectacular light show, a little heavy rain and a few bangs. The lightening was spectacular, the rain was heavy for a few minutes and the thunder was not really very loud. The cat is still sat outside on the table (under the umbrella obvs) and will not come in. I feel that this storm hasn't really made much difference to the heat and the cat who hates rain is distinctly underwhelmed.

Yes. Just kicking off here in the NE! Lots of lightening, which woke me, now rain and a bit of thunder! Thank god for the relief from the humidity,

Pretty spectacular in Northants! Rain has calmed down now but the thunder and lightening has just started again.

It was like an overseas holiday storm, I debated waking up DS to see it 🙈

Lovely big storm overnight in the NE, but didn’t get up to watch it. The allotment has been thoroughly watered which is a relief because otherwise I was going to have to get up at 5 to go down and water it.

Nada. Ye never sent it over . Tiny bit of spitty rain and that was it

We had a whopper of a storm last night. Loads of lightning, thunder overhead and absolutely torrential rain. Lasted 1230 till 0100, then I guess it was the eye of the storm and we got another which lasted another hour and a half!
I'm in S Lakes. It's not surprising that everyone reporting for Cumbria experienced something different; big county and each different valley can have totally different weather! It's not cooler and the humidity is still horrible this morning.

My kids first big thunderstorm. They were v excited and climbed in with us to watch it and hear the thunder.

Man that was a big one last night! From about 12.30-1.45 we had continuous lightning and thunder - just constant. One absolutely huge crash of thunder - loudest i've ever heard - scared the shit out of me

Just outside Edinburgh - loads of thunder and lightning overnight!

We had very noisy hailstones. They were quite big and made quite a sound hitting the windows. That was on the south coast.

Woke up by the almighty thunder at about 2:30am here in West Yorks

I'm normally one to sleep straight through extreme weather but it was incredibly loud and it even woke up my very deaf DH!
