Very rare lunch opportunity with dh in London.. Where shall we go!

Super rare opportunity, nothing outrageously expensive.. Anything unusual away from norm or out standing food would be fab.

We did sketch many many years ago. ALREADY checked out hakkassan and that looks too pricey. Any ideas?

Central ideally. Thanks

Ooh yes, Gymkhana is great. DH keeps on reminding me that he wants to go back.

viques · 15/07/2019 20:21

Almost forgot Nobu. Their lunchtime bento box is like a little adventure, lots of delicious things to discover.

OnlyFoolsnMothers · 15/07/2019 20:21

Dishoom!!! Delicious Indian food

Gentlemanwiththistledownhair · 15/07/2019 20:45

Bocca Di Lupo? Delicious Italian food and trainers wouldn't be a problem

Watching for suggestions Smile

I've always wanted to go to nobu and dh loves Japanese. Also dc wouldn't eat there, also fancying proper Indian cooking as well. Tempted by dish room, gymkahna and the tapas place. But the b tavern also looks like my ideal dining room Grin. I do like the buzz of soho though.
I've got too many wondeful choices now, we may have 2 go twice Grin

Nobu is expensive - fab food but cheap it ain’t!

If you do want to push the boat out then lunch at Dinner?

Knittedjimmychoos · 15/07/2019 21:07

Oh goodness Scott's is another one I've always wanted to go too. Confused

I want to push the boat out, but not too far Grin I think lunch time bento box at nobu is about 40 each.

On the Bab in Covent Garden. Amazing Korean food, very chilled. Not very expensive.

Another vote for the Wolseley

Definitely need a booking at busy times, but very flexible out of peak hours. Lovely place to spend some time if you have had enough of walking for one day.

Villandry, Great Portland Street do fab food at a good price. It's very welcoming and relaxed and has a fab deli too.

Dishoom at Kings Cross (gasworks yard) is quite fun and casual, food is good. Indian with a modern twist.
