Toy Story 4

Has anyone else seen it. I cried, actually sobbed. My eldest is 17 and he came with me, DS2 and DD. It was like the official ending to his childhood so I was extra weepy annd so was he.

It seems like only yesterday that he had a very annoying Buzz Lightyear toy that he was obsessed with.

I've got wine.

I was 7 when it first came out, I was obsessed! Had the toys etc.

I'm now 30 and taking my 7 year old son tomorrow! I can not wait!

Fairylea · 22/06/2019 19:45

We saw it today and enjoyed it but nothing will make me cry like the ending of 3!! Dh and dd tease me about it, I cry even trying to talk about it! In my defence when I saw it dd was in that awkward growing up stage and I felt like it was the end of her childhood etc- Andy giving Bonnie the box of toys made me cry for DAYS!

Number 4 is enjoyable and a good story.

How sad is it? Sad

Rickandportly · 22/06/2019 19:49

Why Woody, WHY???

Oh god it’s so sad.

Fairylea · 22/06/2019 19:50

It is pretty sad. I was fighting back the tears.

AnneEyhtMeyer · 22/06/2019 19:51

Woody will regret his decision.

DD and I came out discussing ways Toy Story 5 could sort out the mess and put it all right again.

ellenanora5 · 22/06/2019 19:53

Aww I loved it, very sad but think it was a good ending to four great movies Smile

I brought ds1 to see the first film, can't believe it was that long ago.

LucilleBluth · 22/06/2019 20:03

It was a great ending. I won't say anything more because I don't want to spoil it.

My 8yo DD is already asking for a Keanu Reeves Duke Caboom toy for Christmas.

Is it sadder than 3 im a menopausal woman and if it is sadder than 3 I won't cope Sad

Fairylea · 22/06/2019 20:31

3 is way sadder than 4 - well I think so anyway!

WouldDoItAgain · 22/06/2019 21:38

We saw it today

DD (13) and I shed a few tears. DS (15) was blinking back tears as was DS(15)

We were discussing on the way home and all agreed it wasn't what we were expecting and missed the old Andy gang characters

I was explaining my take on it regarding Woody still thinking of himself as Andy's toy and how this film was his realisation of that (won't say more!) and my voice did that chokey thing and I couldn't speak for the tears! Blush

If they'd played "You've got a friend in me" at the end I would've been floored!

clpsmum · 22/06/2019 21:44

They should've ended it with toy story 3, I was disappointed tbh

BestIsWest · 22/06/2019 21:52

Just seen it. Was not happy with Woody’s decision either.

Did cry at the beginning. Saw it with DC who are 26 and 21 now - TS1 was the first film I took DD to see in the cinema when she was about 4.

justrestinginmybankaccount · 22/06/2019 21:58

TS3 absolutely kills me every time. I can’t not cry at the end. I’m dying to see 4 but the kids dad took them today. So I’ll have to go on my own Grin

WouldDoItAgain awww your post!! I get the chokey thing every time the kids ask me why I’m crying at the end.

TokyoSushi · 22/06/2019 22:08

We're going tomorrow, everybody is looking forward to it!

Bumblenut · 22/06/2019 22:18

I was very unsatisfied with the ending. There HAS to be a TS 5 in the pipeline after that?

Bumblenut · 22/06/2019 22:19

Although to be fair I did nap through quite a lot of it (hangover).

Satsuma1234 · 22/06/2019 22:21

We are going tomorrow.

64sNewName · 22/06/2019 22:22

TS3 felt like a natural ending to me, and I found it vv emotional. Not sure I see the need for a fourth one.

I would rather like to be spoilered for some reason. I might Google it to see what happens Shock

CormoranStrike · 22/06/2019 22:23

I went with my 22 year old. I liked it, jut perhaps not as much as the others.

There is real pathos in Woody’s storyline, and very creepy dolls in it too.

I did have damp eyes once or twice.

Wrongornot · 22/06/2019 22:25

Loved it. DD (Gabby) was not so impressed!

Gabby Gabby! Gabby Gabby! Gabby Gabby!

She's had a tough day today! 😂

Mrsjayy · 22/06/2019 22:27

D'aww it sounds good the forky thing looks slightly sinister though Grin

Morgan12 · 22/06/2019 22:29

I'm going tomorrow. Hope I'm not disappointed with the end after ready this.

TS3 makes me cry the ugliest tears ever. I need to leave the room when DS watches it.

So long, Partner. 😭😭😭😭😭

AnneElliott · 22/06/2019 22:30

I really want to see it but DS refuses to go with me. He was embarrassed that I cried at the cinema at toy story 3 - he was 4Hmm

I might have to find some other kids to take!
