Carol has replied to Anne saying she is shocked that Anne would cancel her flight after promising it. Anne has told her that she gave her no option .
Both Barbara and I have messaged Carol saying that she has behaved badly and should apologise to Anne.

I’ve been reading these threads too - just hope it all settles now and OP and her two friends have a fab time with no unpleasantness or intrusive visitors.

Now I see people have turned to casting for the film. Great ideas so far but I’d like to remind you that Dick absolutely has to have a golfer’s belly. So no thin or fit actors to play him. He needs to look the part in slacks with a belt and his belly hanging over the top. In the club house, or indeed on holiday, he’ll have a very smelly cigar. He’ll be one of these guys who talks a lot but says very little - so talks about what route he took to the lunch venue, doesn’t really listen, uses lots of cliches, etc.

I’m seeing Julia Roberts as the villa owner. She will pop up again as drama continues on the holiday (in film hopefully not reality)
Agree meryl Streep as Anne Julie Walters as Barbara Penelope Wilton as carol. She was a good awful wife in that marigold film in India. Or possibly the actress that played Bridget Jones mum would also be a great Carol she does snide very well.

The casting & plot development suggestions are all magnificent but I think the movie screams Spaghetti Western meets Film Noir genre. I'd like a part as an extra please, possibly a cantankerous old biddy from Preston whose habit of losing her dentures in the swimming pool is somehow pivotal to the dramatic climax. I can provide my own partial denture.
