I go to very few concerts but I'm going to see my favourite band Rammstein in July and last week I saw the Mongolian Rock band The Hu in concert and they were absolutely incredible, even better than I'd hoped.

Which bands are you seeing this year?

We’re going to Splendour festival in Notts end of July. Good mix of artists play each year, several stages, so something to keep the whole family happy. Not too pricey either. Headliners in the 3 years we’ve been going: Jess Glynne, Kaiser Chiefs, Paloma Faith, and the Manics this summer.

Country2Country festival
Rick Astley/Take That, totally love them both
Muse

Seeing Westlife and Carrie Underwood both next week but gutted to not get tickets to the Eagles! Seeing Muse again in September and would also like some Keane tickets and probably another country artist (maybe Kip Moore).

I am autistic too waves and love gigs. Consider this quite a light gig year!

Have seen Take That x 8 and Queen + Adam Lambert x 6 as they are so good we just buy multiple tickets.

Ah I forgot, also CarFest! Go every year and it’s bloody great!

I'm off to see
Rammstein at Milton Keynes (first time I'll have ever seen them).

Reading for the Sunday for Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, & Foo Fighters.

Then I have Gloryhammer, Grace Petrie, Blood Red Shoes, & Electric Six!
Hoping to add some more.

KatherineJaneway · 19/06/2019 08:12

Saw Mariah Carey at The Royal Albert Hall, amazing. Still hits those high notes on Emotions.

Nothing else booked yet but The Fizz are meant to be touring and I'd like to see them.

bangbingbong · 19/06/2019 08:14

lastqueenofscotland · 19/06/2019 08:17

I listen to punk and hardcore mainly go to like 1/2 gigs a week generally? Missed slam dunk as I was at work Sad
I went to see the courteeners this weekend and I’ve no idea how music that anodyne sells 50k tickets Confused

Mehmehmeh19 · 19/06/2019 09:22

@bangbingbong GBTB! X

xsquared · 19/06/2019 10:54

Shakespear's Sister in November.

Can not wait!

MyfanwyMontez · 19/06/2019 11:00

Psychedelic Furs in Birmingham in October. I’m so excited!

GrumpyOldMare · 19/06/2019 11:04

The Wurzels two weeks on Friday.
I'll probably get laughed at but I grew up listening to and loving them.
The original ''boy band''

Excited much? It's been a long time since I saw them last year.

over50andfab · 19/06/2019 11:12

Ummm...Chris de Burgh later this year.

DD bought me 2 tickets for my birthday, while imploring to please please meet a guy OLD who I like enough to ask to go with me so she doesn’t have to!

aliensprig · 19/06/2019 11:12

@MorinKhuur sooo jel you're seeing Rammstein! We tried to get tickets for basically ANY of the shows and were too late, they sold out in seconds. Absolutely gutted. Loved them since I was 14. Hope you have a fabulous time 🔥

MothralovesGojira · 19/06/2019 11:14

We're going to see:
The Who & Kaiser Chiefs in July at Wembley

Reading Festival in August - to see Twenty One Pilots, Foo Fighters, Frank Carter & the Rattlesnakes, Against The Current, The Amazons and Billie Eilish in particular

Set It Off in October at Heaven in London

We're also going to see all the Wembley NFL games, Rhod Gilbert, School of Rock, The Play That Goes Wrong, Dear Evan Hansen & Hamilton.

So far this year we've been to see Twenty One Pilots, Set It Off, Hugh Jackman, Six The Musical and Hamilton.

We can't go on holiday due to caring for elderly relatives so we spend the money on shows and gigs instead as we can get away for the day with forward planning. We are lucky to have a lot of smaller music venues near by so we go and see a lot of tribute bands and that's really cheap & often as good as the real thing.

MothralovesGojira · 19/06/2019 11:20

Just like to point out that DD15 is the Hamilton & Set It Off nut which is why we're going twice in a year!! We all love TOP & the Foos so are more than happy to see them over and over!!!

novasglowx · 19/06/2019 11:22

Flying out to Berlin this evening to see Rammstein on Saturday! Going to Milton Keynes too, I never realised how many Rammstein fans there are on Mumsnet! 😆

Erismorn · 19/06/2019 11:32

So far this year I've seen The National, Kathryn Joseph, Algiers, and Shhe. DH's badly smashed collarbone at the start of the year and my increasing pregnancy girth has hampered our ability to see more. Just booked first gig for next year though - Sleater Kinney in Feb.

purplelass · 19/06/2019 11:32

I normally just stick to local bands in local pubs, which I do 2-3 times a month. I think it's good to support smaller and up & coming bands and venues and it fits my budget!

Having said that I also went to Butlins Alternative Weekend in February, and am going to Reading Festival on the Sunday to see the Foo Fighters for the first time, bit excited about that!

FaithInfinity · 19/06/2019 11:39

I went to see Hugh Jackman the other week, off to see Bon Jovi next Sunday. I’m autistic, recently realised I’m much better at gigs if I wear ear plugs. I can still hear but it’s just less of an assault on my senses.

Auldspinster · 19/06/2019 11:44

Going to see Soulside in October, very excited.
