Inspired by another thread. Have £100 worth of points. Want to spend it on something other than petrol!

The double up categories include wine, toys, electricals and a few others, so most people will be able to find something they want fairly easily especially as it is a few weeks before Christmas.

I suppose if you are tea total, child free and don't celebrate Christmas you might struggle, but otherwise, it's pretty easy to take part and there's always the option of spending them in store or simply saving them for next year if you don't need anything because they don't expire.

What surprises me is the number of people who have years and years worth of Nectar points and have never used them. Why go to the bother of carrying the card around and collecting the points if you're never going to do anything with them?

Christmas food shop. Haven’t spent any cash at Christmas in years

I agree, it's basically double up on everything except food. I don't know of anyone who doesn't need clothing etc. I get the kids Xmas pyjamas, school uniform and birthday cards for the upcoming year.

Also replaced old kettle and towels.

Wine (for me Wink)

Toys, books and games for Xmas presents.

I found it harder to spend in the double up this year, having done it for several years now - I've already replaced all our baking trays, tea towels etc, we have every kitchen utensil we need, books and DVDs are less popular as gifts now everyone seems to use kindle/netflix. My DCs are teens (in between adult and child sizes) so no clothes for them. We hardly drink wine but I do get some as its handy for donating to tombolas. However there are still ways - I stocked up on printer ink cartridges and phone charging cables last time.

@BarbaraofSevillle that's us - it's taken us 8 years to accumulate a £100! We only use it for petrol and the odd top up shop
