I emailed Rolex in Thailand and it was more expensive than in the retail shops here. You have to watch out for tax and the exchange rate. The bloke at Rolex said the UK is the cheapest country to buy Rolex at the moment.
just checked, Heathrow had the £17350 watch for £14,458.

That's lovely amused - I got this one last year and they are such good bags - I have used it pretty much constantly and it looks like new still, despite having been chucked on the floor and, on one occasion, left in the pub all afternoon 🤦🏻‍♀️

Ooh lovely, that's a good size for every day use. I'm glad to hear it is standing up against the abuse Grin

One thing I like is that the one I'm going for looks really cute with jeans and a top and with something more smart, which I definitely need. As much as I love my Bayswater it's just so unwieldy and not very dressy.

Yes it's a good 'dress up or down' bag. I rarely use my Bayswater, it pisses me off when the postman's lock digs into my arm.

Ifonlyiweretaller · 03/05/2019 18:07

@Amibeingnaive I sold my Bayswater (through npn bags) as I found I hardly ever used it. I found it too heavy and wouldnt sit on my shoulder. And the one side of the flap would always end up tucking intself inside the bag. I'm frankly amazed it's such an icon Wink

Ifonlyiweretaller · 03/05/2019 18:09

Thanks for the info lalafafa. We must have just been unlucky at the time we were buying. We ended buying it in the UK, but from a local jeweller.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 03/05/2019 23:47

Can you please stop drawing me towards the Gucci website.... I’ve found myself completely lost in that, looking at potential handbags, shoes and jumpers. And who ever knew that you could buy wallpaper there as wellShock
Hope you’re safely back home OP, stroking and admiring your new purchase!

CassandraCross · 04/05/2019 08:42

It's dangerous and addictive isn't it Just.

It's been great looking at all the lovely bags on this thread and very enjoyable doing a live buy with you SansasSnatch, thanks all for brightening up a dull day!

SansasSnatch · 04/05/2019 14:01

FiremanKing ha should have read through the whole thing! 2nd one is nice too 👍🏻

BobbyGentry · 04/05/2019 14:15

My only concern with LV is just how cheap the grade A copies are (between 30 - 150 quid); it’s really hard to tell what’s real and what’s not - they’ve been done so well that I would never feel secure to buy over the internet without feeling had.

Saying that though, the Gucci (50 quid) & Chanel (90 quid)bags don’t fair much better either; be careful what you buy on the internet. If you’re dropping that kind of money then you’re as well buying a return flight to Italy to ensure it’s original.

beanaseireann · 04/05/2019 14:54

I don't like either. I have LV bags so it's not that I'm against a designer bag.

SansasSnatch · 04/05/2019 17:42

I was on holiday in Bologna and bought it from the LV store. Also there is no such thing as a ‘grade A copy’ Hmm

SansasSnatch · 04/05/2019 17:47

I would rather not have one than buy a fake one. Never never never.

I don’t care that they are copied - I know it’s real.

Plus stop pissing on my chips please Grin

Amibeingnaive · 04/05/2019 18:54

I don't really care whether people think mine is fake or not, I know it's not.

Plus I can spot the fakes, believe me. They are never perfect.

BobbyGentry · 04/05/2019 23:56

Grade A fakes come with dust bags, receipts of purchase and certificates of authenticity. How do you know you’ve not already bought a fake!? If there’s money to be made then someone will be making it. Tyra (2007) YouTube dissects a cheap fake:

Catchingbentcoppers · 05/05/2019 08:01

Well I'm usually a FFS what a lot of nonsense for a bag person OP, but I've really enjoyed this thread! Regardless of whether someone likes the bag or not, doesn't really matter apart from you of course.

@BobbyGentry there's really no need to try to spoil someone's enjoyment of something. None at all.

Enjoy your bag OP!

WokenUp · 05/05/2019 09:50

Bobby
Why on earth would you buy a return flight to Italy to ensure something is original?! Grin
Do you think the London Chanel boutiques/Gucci store/Harrods/Birmingham Selfridges concessions etc all sell fakes?!

I mean... I'll take a trip to Italy no problem but I'm quite happy buying the majority of my designer wear from a reputable store in the uk thanks

augustusglupe · 05/05/2019 10:03

I like the first one. I’ve got quite a few LV bags and their quality compared to other designer bags is outstanding! They really do last forever. I love that little Gucci crossbody everyone’s mentioning too.

SansasSnatch · 05/05/2019 11:45

Are some people questioning the originality of LV uthorised stores outside of the uk?
Not sure I get it - I buy bags from authorised stores end of wherever I am at that time, sometimes London sometimes not.

As for fakes, I am astonished people would think I’m ridiculous spending money I earned, paid tax, bought legally and honestly over something that supports the slave trade, is illegal is beyond me.

But hey if it makes you feel better to point my stupidity out - big up to you Smile

Ninkaninus · 05/05/2019 11:58

I think maybe that person was referring to authenticated products being sold on, pre-loved?

TBF I don’t think I ever would actually buy anything unless it’s from an actual authorised store, because I’d rather not have it at all than have even the smallest doubt as to authenticity.

And I’m with you, I absolutely would not buy a fake. I’d rather go without completely than ever knowingly buy fake goods.

BobbyGentry · 09/05/2019 06:29

May I say that I really like the OPs bag; it’s really lovely. Also cannot condone buying knock off even if they’re grade a & from the back of the factory door.

Only clinked the OP’s link ‘cause it came up on the discussion of the day and I like bags too! Thought, ‘gosh, bet that’s been done,’ checked and it had and in hindsight posted.

Sorry, can't find the comparison charts but if you want to buy high end goods then Italy, Spain and Portugal are recommended. Presently Portugal is the cheapest because of the tax returned, claimed back at the airport.
