Just watching This Morning and Max Beesley is on there. Oh my, did I used to fancy him but blimey AFAIC he has not aged well. He just looks like some boring middle aged NDN now.

Daniel Day Lewis. Gorgeous then, gorgeous now

Jeff Goldblum. Handsome then and now.

Katie Price. Was so attractive when she started out. Not now

Russell Crowe. He had something about him Now just a jowly middle aged man.

Emma Thompson. Had no work done and looks far better now than she used to

My DH. I think he's more handsome than he used to be, he's grown into his grey hair and wrinkles, whereas I just look like a grey haired old woman Grin

Coco I had a thread a couple of years ago: "Has your teenage crush aged well?" or something like that will now have Lisbon swooping on me I guess and that immortal picture was posted with the "My mum and Aunty Pauline have gone missing after bingo; they're vulnerable," line. Hilarious!

Roussette · 26/04/2019 18:20

faff I've learned my lesson! I've been here since dinosaurs roamed the earth and obviously posted in the wrong section!

Agree with Jamie Lee Curtis. I wish grey hair suited me as much as it does her.

Paul Rudd is delicious and hasn't aged a day.

DarlingNikita · 26/04/2019 18:21

I always have to say Joan Bakewell on any thread about ageing.

God yes, she's stunning. And Charlotte Rampling.

Roussette · 26/04/2019 18:21

Coco just clocked your pic. Grin Grin

The thing is... Charlotte Rampling started off with the right ingredients. I didn't so it's downhill all the way for me Grin

Right, Rousette, has Max Beesley stayed in shape? I've googled recent pics of him and don't think he looks that bad?

MargotLovedTom1 · 26/04/2019 18:24

Joanna Lumley is incredible.

ILoveYou3000 · 26/04/2019 18:26

@WillLokireturn I'm sure Paul Rudd is ageing in reverse or just hasn't aged after 30! He looks amazing.

Mark Ruffalo is adorable, though I agree he looks his age.

And in keeping with the theme, I'd say RDJ hasn't aged too badly. He looks his age but I think he wears it so well.

Who do you think has aged well, and who hasn't? (just lighthearted thread)

Margot
I just saw him on This Morning being interviewed today and he looked so ordinary and it just burst my balloon, but I haven't seen him for ages. I used to really have the hots for him. but had probably built him up in my own mind too much

Paul Rudd is amazing. I fell in love with him as a teen when I used to watch clueless on repeat. I still love him now 💕
I’m fairly confident he will feel the same about me when we finally met 🤣

BettyBooJustDoinTheDoo · 26/04/2019 18:34

I know she has had loads of work but it’s been so well done compared to many other celebs, is Christie Brinkley, she always looks so happy too. The ones who have not aged so well are my pin ups from my youth, I loved the Blow Monkeys and Dr Robert had cheekbones you could cut glass on but unfortunately time has not been kind.

DobbysLeftSock · 26/04/2019 18:36

I'm afraid I'm with the fun police on this one. It just seems like a shitty thing to focus on.

Carrie Fisher's take on it:

"Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well," she wrote on Twitter. "Unfortunately, it hurts all three of my feelings. My body hasn’t aged as well as I have. Blow us." Followed by, "Youth and beauty are not accomplishments, they’re the temporary happy by-products of time and/or DNA. Don’t hold your breath for either."

MargotLovedTom1 · 26/04/2019 18:38

Rousette Oh dear, I've just found a clip of him on This Morning and you're right. He's starting to look like Sid James Shock.

findingmyfeet12 · 26/04/2019 18:38

Yasmin Le Bon looks amazing.

David Beckam is aging very well.

Helen Mirren and Susan Sarandon also look amazing.

evilharpy · 26/04/2019 18:42

Paul Rudd is never 50! He’s lovely.

I remember thinking right before George Michael died that he was ageing very well.

Saw Julia Roberts in something recently and she’s as beautiful as ever.

So commenting on celebrities’ Appearances is bullying, (I assume you never buy magazines, newspapers or support any kind of media which comments on celebrity?) but calling another poster names such as snide, mean, spiteful and ugly on the inside is apparently virtuous. Confused
I hope you won’t be offended if I don’t follow your ‘moral’ leadership Grin

Roussette · 26/04/2019 18:45

Susan Sarandon I agree (even though I can't stand the woman)

FiremanKing · 26/04/2019 18:48

I have to say that my ol mucker Boy George is looking very well.

InTheHeatofLisbon · 26/04/2019 18:51

(I assume you never buy magazines, newspapers or support any kind of media which comments on celebrity?)

You'd assume correctly.

And my comments were about choices OP made to be those things, the nasty comments about aging are about people who can't choose how they age.

I don't really care one way or another, I just think that a group of women banding together to be titillated by putting other people down is the absolute definition of petty, snide, spiteful and yes, ugly on the inside. Being nasty isn't exactly a wonderful personality trait is it?

Point out where I've said it's virtuous? I haven't. If it's your cup of tea then you crack on making nasty comments about people. But at least admit it's shit but you enjoy it for whatever reason.

Veterinari · 26/04/2019 18:52

I think Sandra Bullock, Victoria beckham, Julia Roberts, Judi Dench and Emma Thompson all look amazing

Paul McCartney, Katie Price, Donatello Versace, Lindsay Logan, Russell Crowe and Donald Trump less so

FiremanKing · 26/04/2019 18:54

Unless you are Max Beesley, Lisbon, what’s it to you what a group of random son the internet are chatting about?

Is it some kind of inferiority complex because you weren’t made a Prefect at school that you see fit to monitor this light hearted thread?

Roussette · 26/04/2019 18:57

Well I think this thread is nice so there! Everyone compares how they've aged. Like my funny story on the other thread... my best friend is 4 years younger than me, she's nearly 61 and looks wonderful.

It wasn't helped when I was having my hair washed in the hairdressers and my friend popped in to speak to me and the receptionist said "your daughter is here to see you!" Shock

I know my limitations Grin

@InTheHeatofLisbon
Is it pleasurable to gossip about celebrities who make their living from media and gossip? Yes, of course. Easy way for them to avoid it would be to not be in the public eye. Being famous is a lifestyle choice, good and bad, and celebrities court gossip as much as we enjoy gossiping.

You have decided the OP’s personality and mindset based on a single post on a public forum and slagged her off harshly - i’d Say that was judgemental, vicious and shallow.

You’ve been deeply unpleasant on this thread under the veneer of ‘righteous outrage’ and if anyone is bullying, it’s certainly not the OP. You might want to reflect on your own behaviour before you throw accusations at other people. Or y’know just live and let live.
